Similar to a healthy 3.0/3.2 Omega?

This one is the later 250 BHP model so it should be able to keep up with the general flow of traffic.

The earlier V6 turbo had to get by on only 230 BHP.

I thought I was being sensible.

The unpretentious and practical Signum reminds  me of the old Morris 1800, the one known as the landcrab.

Spacious......FWD.....and with a big boot.

I mean, what could be more sensible than a modern Morris 1800?... ::)

In a Vectra, those 2.8T go pretty bloody well in a straight line, though chronic fuel economy if you rag it a lot.

I'm told that Bluefin will help the economy by about 10% as well as bolstering the performance with an extra 50 BHP and 80 FT LB of torque in the midrange.

I don't think the Signum is a drivers car like the Omega. The Omega was pitched against the 5 series BMW and Mercedes E class. Badge snobbery was always against it though. :-\

No. Just time for a newer car purely as a means of transport without spending a fortune*

This option seems the most likely.

Yes,just effortless tbh, never seemed to be trying yet deceptively quick probably due to lack of revs, rare for it to exceed 3k.

That is what I meant to say.

My point being that if women are allowed to drive in this country surely they should be restricted to cars under 900cc and 50 BHP. Common sense really.

Saudi Arabia has the right approach to women drivers.

The SD1 wasn't awful IMHO, just very poorly assembled by people who had no passion for the job they were being paid to do and much preferred to stand outside the factory gates on strike.

Personally I'm not too fond of it and would prefer cloth.

It does resemble the colour of 'stools' when feeling under the weather. ;D

I agree, but a lot of car for the money, and you don't see very many of these around. Is it a 4 or 5 seater?

In reality it is a four seater much like the original Rover 2000/2200/3500*

* for those of 'whippersnapper age' the original Rover 2000 was not the awful SD1. ;)

The SD1 wasn't awful IMHO, just very poorly assembled by people who had no passion for the job they were being paid to do and much preferred to stand outside the factory gates on strike.

I specifically make reference to the 2000.

I always did like the 3500, especially in Vitesse form :y.......not so sure about the 2300 and 2600 models though.

Tell us a bit about the performance. What's the 0 to 600 expenditure time? ::) ::) ::)

A mere 258 foot pounds of torque at 1800 rpm means I expect to achieve a minimum of 30,000 miles from the front tyres. :)

I would have thought close to 60,000 miles if you drive it like tunnie does his 0.6666667 Omega a spinster aunt does her Morris 1000. ::) ::) ::)

Unfair rumours I do say! MrsT often tells me to slow down.

I've even managed to (almost) shred a set of tyres in just 14k on the 3.2.  :o ;D

That's because the cars you buy don't last very long. ;D
