Picking it up on Monday :y when I will be £2400 the poorer :'(

So come on 'ya' bastards let the insults begin about FWD crap and how it will understeer like a puppy on polished lino. ;D

If nothing else I prefer the colour to STMO's bilge green Astra. ;)
http://tinyurl.com/pf94t93

Same colour interior as the one I had, looks nice :y

I believe your Signum was the 3 litre derv drinker.......do I have that right, Henry?

Indeed it was a soot chucker, quite a quick one at that :y :y

Shed load of torque?

Yes,just effortless tbh, never seemed to be trying yet deceptively quick probably due to lack of revs, rare for it to exceed 3k.

A mere 258 foot pounds of torque at 1800 rpm means I expect to achieve a minimum of 30,000 miles from the front tyres. :)

That young Tunnie chap apparently gets 30,000 miles from the tyres of his potent 2.2 Omega, so why not me? :)

Well I guess you'll be wearing your flat cap, driving gloves and cardie, so it's unlikely you'll be applying the full force of that 250bhp lump through the front wheels!  :-\  ::)  ;D

Will Lady Opti be permitted to drive it?  ???  :)

I'm not sure that women are capable of handling quick cars. I'm not being sexist but I genuinely believe that girlies are far better off with a 'nippy little town car'

I have fixed your spelling mistake.

That is what I meant to say.

My point being that if women are allowed to drive in this country surely they should be restricted to cars under 900cc and 50 BHP. Common sense really.

Saudi Arabia has the right approach to women drivers.

Loads of torque steer and 'cat shit' leather. Nice. :)

I believe the colour of the leather is described as 'oatmeal' ::)

Personally I'm not too fond of it and would prefer cloth.

It does resemble the colour of 'stools' when feeling under the weather. ;D

I agree, but a lot of car for the money, and you don't see very many of these around. Is it a 4 or 5 seater?

Will you ever go fast enough for the turbo to spool up? I mean....16mpg around town.

Opti......have you gone raving bonkers?

I thought I was being sensible.

The unpretentious and practical Signum reminds  me of the old Morris 1800, the one known as the landcrab.

Spacious......FWD.....and with a big boot.

I mean, what could be more sensible than a modern Morris 1800?... ::)

In reality it is a four seater much like the original Rover 2000/2200/3500*

* for those of 'whippersnapper age' the original Rover 2000 was not the awful SD1. ;)

The SD1 wasn't awful IMHO, just very poorly assembled by people who had no passion for the job they were being paid to do and much preferred to stand outside the factory gates on strike.

I specifically make reference to the 2000.

I always did like the 3500, especially in Vitesse form :y.......not so sure about the 2300 and 2600 models though.

I would have thought close to 60,000 miles if you drive it like tunnie does his 0.6666667 Omega a spinster aunt does her Morris 1000. ::) ::) ::)
