Title: What to do with this?

These are the LPG injector wires that were melted on the SAI pipe.  Should I cut out the melted bits either side back to good insulation and put in some new wire with connectors or just re insulate with tape?  :-\

Daft brush... ::)

Obviously repair it properly with solder and heat shrink :y

Do one wire at a time to avoid chaos though :D

It's probably better, easier and neater to replace from the melted part to wherever they go.

Back to the LPG systems ECU I presume.  :-\  Maybe it goes back to a plug and I can pull the whole lot out.  :-\

Anyway as I don't have a soldering iron, it'll get wrapped in insulating tape for the time being.  ;)

In theory you can insulating tape over it, then get some of that cloth tape that you see all over the engine bay, then ideally a ribbed shroud, maybe like the stuff that you get on the crank sensor, and that'll be fine. Of course ideally you want to solder in fresh wire, then do all of the above. (heatshrink replacing insulating tape of course)

Got some old previous-owner electrical bodges which I'm after sorting too; myself.  :)

Well I ended up double wrapping each wire with insulating tape and then wrapping the whole lot before putting it in a length of the black plastic ribbed shroud and normal service has been resumed.  :y

Of course I will at some point do a proper job with solder, heatshrink and new wiring.  ::)

I was making fun of your suggestion that you bodged it back together with a view to repairing it properly at a later date...

... assuming of course that you don't forget to repair it properly at a later date ::)
