Why are you trying to lose weight? Unless you are obese, I'd just enjoy life and eat what I liked, without overdoing it, of course.

I find that fish'n'chips and kebabs and chinese lose their appeal when eaten on a regular basis. Once a month for each, maybe, I look forward to it then.

Our chippies in Brakkers are so crap, we rarely use them.
Nipped to one in a nearby village on the way back from the land of the inbreds, aka Banbury, last night, cost us a tenner for cod and chips and pie and chips :o. Have they gone up, or did I pick an expensive one? Nice though, unlike the ones from town, which always give me the squitters :-[

Have you heard the phrase you get what you pay for? A tenner is about what I'd expect to pay for that here, although I do have to walk past one chippy to get to the one that's been excellent for over thirty years. And I haven't had better anywhere else in the country either.
-
Well worth a tenner if you enjoyed it :y
The problem I have/used to have with Chinese is: you buy a meal, you like it, you buy it again, it's different :o Our local chinese has one cook and the meals always taste the same and have the same amount of ingredients, if you know what I mean.
Three Chinese within a ten minute drive, all the curry tastes totally different and some have white fried rice and some dark brown. ???

There was a place in Cornwall that still used beef dripping. Ahhhh, bliss :D
I did chuckle once when I was in there, 2 young lasses deciding what they wanted, I heard them say the choice was limited for vegans, but they decided on some vegetable fritter and chips. Nobody mentioned to them what it was all cooked in ;D

Yeah, wasn't knocking it, we'd spend more than that having a cardburger in 'Donalds, and double that in BK. I was just a bit shocked, that was all :).
Still, I vaguely recall paying over £70 in the chippy at Newent last year ;D
