General Discussion Area / Re: Police Commissioner Elections
« on: 16 November 2012, 19:14:37 »
Our local UKIP ,would not offer email questions only a mobile nuber, so i sent her an SMS..

the reply was not encouraging, so , she got no vote..

I'll post a script of the sms , if anyone's interested..
there was a disparity between what she sent in an sms to me, and what she quoted  to someone else later

First in SMS
Me :what is your position on privatisation of police?
Her:UKIP genereally opposed to it
Me: so not totally?
Her: never say never on anything, but not at present..

would you trust that?

later stated  via 38 dedgrees.com blog on the subject she stated....

Hilary Jones (UKIP):
UKIP is against the privatisation of any Police services, but you can never say never to anything should the government move the goalposts.

I am the only Merseyside candidate who has been a Merseyside Police officer, although for only a year, so I do understand your concerns.

I have no connections with any company that might wish to tender for contracts, however I cannot comment on any company that currently has contracts.

odd ,that once I checked via contacts in the force, no one even remembers her name, obviously, either a fabrication, or she couldn't cut it...

Evidently, many spoilt ballot papers, with point of view written on, not a cross ;D

Yep, I had to laugh at the guy on the radio this morning blaming the high percentage of spoilt papers on the fact that the voting system used was not "first past the post" and traditionally had a higher percentage of spoilt papers because us plebs "didn't understand" it.  >:(

I think if someone scrawls words to the effect of "why are you wasting money on this pointless exercise while also cutting numbers of coppers?" on their ballot paper, it's unlikely that a misunderstanding of the voting system is the problem. Condescending ******. >:(

so much for us all being dimwitted plebs..............

Firstly the system has been rigged for the big parties with a 5000 deposit and no free delivery election address- unless you are on the internet

November elections are absurd as people will not open up in the evenings

The job role is a nonsense with MP's and Judges setting the law and the Chief Constable runs the police operations

How one person can represent the whole county of five boroughs is absurd

For the first time since I was able to vote I wrote on my postal ballot paper this is a disgraceful waste of 75 millions pounds electing a non-job which should have been spent of police officers

As for the candidates not one of them inspires confidence in my area

A waste of time and money when we are supposed to be saving costs, not one candidate can even make clear what they would do in this 80,000 to 100,000 pounds a year non-job

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Horn problem
« on: 27 April 2011, 20:51:23 »
suddenly today, the horn triggered , and continued for no apparent reason.

It is not like the alarm mode , but constant, and cannot be shut off, except by disconnecting the battery.

Any ideas, on cause/ or temp disablement?

in desperation....
