 this happened to myself 8 times over the past 2 weeks with waiting for sender to cool -car would start and run another few miles-contacted FORUM they said Crank sender this have been done under the AA who pay a total of £500x 5 callouts per year you pay for Administration £25
any driver who is not in this must have to much Money- Last 4 Weeks they renewed New Matrix -Air vent turbo motor now Crank Sender for £50 yes £50 Administration
Now got 3 Lives Left for this Year then it starts all over again --Photoman

Local garage checked codes -found fault on rpm sensor ? :) which cleared -hopes that mv6 is well again  thanks to all replies with info valleyboy

 >:(driving at 35mph when  all dash lights came on, total cutout with cars sounding their horns- this is the 2nd time whilst driving and 3 seperate  when static -plenty of battery but not fireing-restarts after 5- 20 minuets - any ideas valleyboy v reg 3000 mv6

had the same prob with my v reg mv6 estate, had good advice from forum when my matrix overheated and flooded car well-stripping down renewed matrix but when adding new matrix found small motor which is at side of matrix had  both levers which supplies heat to front vents /dash had seized -i am waiting for main dealer to supply -hopefully this will give me long awaited heat at vents allthough heat was comming out from rear passenger vents -part arriving wed this week -£89-let you know outcome Photoman

yes it did max out -first i noticed the temp climing fast-then i thought the car was on fire this was before i noticed water cascading through the dash as i was on the motoway i quickly exited the estate and waited for the AA who towed me home as he could not repair or by pass the matrix owing to the connections he said- it was scarey as the hard shoulder was very narrow- i did when joining forum leave a heating probon board this could well be linked -thanks

my mv6 estate 1999 blows cold air from heater in the front yet hot air at the same time at rear seats compartment --who can HELP
