Omega General Help / oil leak
« on: 11 July 2007, 09:41:19 »
Hi folks
My 1988 Omega 2ltr 16v GLS  leaks engine oil (!) just 3-4 drips from the screw heads at the bottom of the torque converter (the lowest point) only leaks after a run and possibly while driving, but not when engines cool and cars parked.
The Head has been skimmed, gasket and cam belt done.
Before this work it leaked oil and water from all over the place. I`m sure its not leaking from cam cover.
Other than this it runs very well and idles perfectly.
Any help or suggestions gratefully recieved.

Hi Folks
I live in Kent, Have 88 2L 16v GLS Auto (Black- looks cool) with LPG conversion, 145k owned 6 months.
Spent money on oil and water leaks-  Head skim/gasket, cambelt new radiator.
Runs well, performance OK after you get used to it, at first it seems very underpowered but sport mode and driving technique help.
and yes it is still leaking, only under pressure , after a run 3-4 drips of engine oil every time from the 2 lugs on bottom of torque converter ( the lowest point). I would really appreciate some suggestions here.
But hey what a great car for the cash. and this website puts other owners sites to shame its utterly amazing !
(Have not used forums before not sure where this will end up)
