Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Speedo and Rev counter
« on: 28 January 2021, 16:25:21 »
Have just had this problem with speedo and rev counter also the engine cut out.  After about ten minutes managed to get it to fire up but still no primary instruments, did notice the rev counter did twitch a bit.  Have got the vehicle home now but cannot find any fault, any ideas?   Vehicle is a 2002, 2.2.

Omega General Help / Re: Coolant tank
« on: 01 October 2020, 17:17:16 »
Thank you all for the information, being retired with 'nothing to do' I have decided to cut out the switch from the base with a hole saw. Rectify the problem and repair the tank using some good aerospace material.  I hope after pressure testing I might have found an answer, will keep you informed.

Omega General Help / Coolant tank
« on: 30 September 2020, 19:10:15 »
Over the years of operation with Omega's I have had several coolant tank level switch failures.  Is there a repair scheme as I have four tanks with duff switches and now one of my current vehicles is showing a coolant level warning.

Advice from members gave crank sensor, fuel pump and relay as probable cause.  It was found the followers had "hydraulic locked".  The engine was eventually started by flooring the acc. pedal and motoring it over.  This cut the fuel off which did not flood the engine and allowed the oil to dissipate from the tappets.  No further problems, hope it helps someone.

Omega General Help / Re: Fuel pump

I have got a similar problem, hope someone can help. The engine started then cut out, turns over OK now but will not fire up. Omega is a 2.6 year 2002. Could the fuel pump or relay be at fault?
Which is the easiest fuel pipe to disconnect to see if fuel is being pumped? The crank sensor has been stated by other members to be a possible fault and I have "Banged" the bottom of the fuel tank to free the pump. What is the position of the pump relay?

Thank you for the advice.  The central locking is all working OK but it appears that a link has come adrift as the inner and outer handles seem OK.  Something has disconnected from the lock assembly.

Cannot open the door and cannot remove the trim to check for broken linkage.  Any ideas where a hole can be drilled through the trim to the lock where with suitable "tools" the door can be unlocked.
I am prepared to ruin the trim if need be.  I am sure this problem has occurred before to other owners.
