Omega General Help / Omega 2001 Central Locking
« on: 15 July 2008, 20:15:34 »
My passenger side central locking motor has stopped working.

I have seen a front door central locking motor on ebay of a 1998 Omega - it looks the same and has the same part number.

Are they the same and will it fit ?

I have changed my oil filter to the spin on type,as I was having trouble getting the end cap off, even with a filter wrench on the cartridge body, the whole thing was turning against the eng. block when I tried to unscrew the end cap.So I found a good piece of bar, drilled a hole in cartridge body, pushed the bar in, then unscrewed the end cap, which I reckoned took about 150ft.pounds.The paper cartridge inside looked like it had never been changed. All you need then is a12mm allan key (Ihad to go and buy one) to unscrew the connector. All you then need is a spin on filter and correct connector(£3+vat) From then on you are saving £3 on each change

My paper  cartridge type oil filter is not unscrewing (just rotating on the engine I am thinking of cutting it off, and replacing with the screw on type I have read in the forum how to convert the paper cartridge type on the 2.5 to the spin on type, and ask if it is OK to do the same to my  2.6  thanks  Bill

Omega General Help / Oil leak from auto gearbox selector shaft
« on: 22 October 2007, 23:02:52 »
Some vauxhall fitter prior to me owning the vehicle removed the oil seal with a chisel and destroyed the boss that the oils seal fits in to.
I have fitted a new seal and used silicone sealent, but still get a slight drip.
Any ideas how to stop the leak ?
