Can't wait to see her at our airshow in Clacton in August, I will stand with tears in my eyes watching her in awe.  Dad never tired of telling us how he stood guard over her during his National Service days when she had a 24-hour stopover in Germany.  He wore his Vulcan to the Skies cap with great pride.  Unfortunately he is now in a nursing home in the last stage of Alzheimers/Dementia otherwise he would be beside me.

Ive got a similar problem - no longer with Sky and have bought a freeview recorder which works with indoor aerial but I dont get all the freeview channels that should be available.  Wanted to connect Sky Plus box to recorder to use dish as aerial but sky cable is split in two and the recorder only has one port for aerial.  Asked in Currys if there was an adapter I could buy and was told that my recorder uses an analogue signal which it converts (?) and Sky is digital so there is no adapter.  Had I bought a Freesat box it would have worked he told me.

Now trying to get the roof aerial sorted so I can use that.

Sorry for long post but hope this helps the OP.

Aramis - Mrs. Opti has good taste - its my all time favourite smell on a man.  If I pass someone in the street wearing it I'm tempted to turn round and follow them, mmmmmmm   :)

Dave, Tesco sell the ones Im using on their fag counter - you could always buy the disposable one for £5.99 just to see if it might suit you, then either go for the rechargeable one and refills, or Captain Zok's suggestion of the flavoured ones.  Im using the menthol refills, and they're fine, I'm not having any bad effects at all.

Good luck.

Thanks guys - I really envy those of you who gave up by sheer willpower alone.

And Iain.... well done to you too!

After almost 40 years of smoking I have finally given up using the 10Motives electronic cigarette.  Recently the pharmacy signed me off their stop smoking service because even with the usual aids i.e. patches, inhaler, gum, lozenges, I still couldn't stop altogether.  I'd even had the Champix tablets a couple of years ago and still I couldn't do it.

I havent had a cigarette for 8 days now, and athough that might not seem much its a mighty achievement for me and I have no craving or withdrawal symptoms.  Just have to wean myself off the electronic cig now - but its a hell of a lot cheaper and healthier so Im not too worried if it takes a while.

Just wanted to share with you smokers out there who might also be wanting to stop.

Saw the Vulcan today at Clacton Air Show - absolutely fantastic.  Not the first time I've seen it but still I'm stunned by its sheer elegance and power.    :)

Flying or on the ground?, I remember when I was kid they use to do there low flying cold war practice runs over the village about 4 of them one by one with Fighter Escorts, really low, sounded awesome.

Hi Zirk, it was flying and put on a brilliant display as always.

If I put £20.01 I always try to give them £30, they can't be arsed to give me £9.99 change so most of the time they give me the £10 back ::)

... and take the penny from the pot or till would end up short if nobody paid the odds.  By the same token lots of people leave their odd bit of change so it evens out in the end.  I would say though that its not the cashier's fault if you've gone over and there are more people hit the exact amount than don't.  We suggest to any complainants that they put it in writing to the manager and arrange to be present whilst a pump test is done.

Well I'm still here and read the forum most days, but I've not got an Omega and only really interested in Gen Chat and the photos of meets - nice to see who's still about since meeting some of you at Newent in 2009.

Hi Duggs, I've been to Olu Deniz in Turkey for the last couple of years and found it to be reasonably priced as they're not using the Euro yet.  Slightly out of Europe I know, and a 4 hour flight, but well worth it.  Olu is a lovely place, plenty of bars and restaurants, lots of things to do if you like sightseeing, and watching the paragliders come down from the mountains whilst sunbathing is a great thing to see.  Maybe have a look at Trip Advisor Forum, plenty of advice on there.
