anyway i just remembered that you use the blue wire to set it up.
im sure you had to reverse up to a wall. then cut the blue wire

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Alarm Problem?
« on: 05 November 2007, 23:37:10 »
to be honest i dont want to give away an locations on the net as many criminals
use the web to obtain info.
but the ir alarm ecu is not where you think it is.

email me and i will happily help.

one website that really gives me the hump
is scoobynet

they all go on about their subaru's and
how often they get stolen etc
and say they want alarms and trackers  to protect them

then they tell anyone who enters their forum how to get around the alarms
by giving people the alarm wiring diagrams etc

they are the ones that are getting their cars stolen
they drive me up the wall
ive reported them to  various alarm company's
and have had some peoples trade accounts frozen due to the lack of
security and disrespect concerning wiring diagrams.

i mean the standard factory fitted car alarm is no secret to a pro crim
as all they have to do is buy a car and examine the way it is installed.
every model will have the same layout.

but aftermarket fitted systems can be fitted in many different locations
on every car.
so giving out the diagrams is not the end of the world
but im sure you will agree the less help the crims are given
the better chance the good guys have.

sorry if im going on but some people p1ss me right off lol

if you wish to take the alarm off its easy.
couple of immobilser cuts to join but not hard.
if you want to know how
i will let you know how
to rather than posting it all over the board for it
fall into the wrong hands. ;)

The immobiliser ECU is inside the steering wheel cowl and around the ignition switch....it cant be bypassed or removed without TechII and the car security pass.

For those that dont know.
the box that is hidden behind the cowling is actually an antenna.
this powers up the small chip located in the key.
transmitter - responder.
made from  these two words  = transponder

the antenna powers up the chip in the key and the chip sends
its code back to the antenna.
this sends the code to the immobiliser or ecu
and if its genuine allows the car to start.

you can actually get around this by......... the ..........
.
have to stop there but i will tell you if you want to know.
please email me.
i have done it several times and it works everytime.
you cant do this on several high end vehicles.
they have a system that prevents this.
 thats called
a software lock in the trade.
the listing of cars that can be bypassed is available free on the web.

one of my hobbies is a locksmith
and most locks can be opened in seconds with a blank key
so this immobiliser bypass is  hardly a big problem compared to lock security .

you can stick a live on the starter motor live wire.
or you can jiggle the key left to right as it also works.
ive not tried sticking a live to the starter cable before so be careful.
works on some cars..

the pipes im talking about come out of the airbox.
and go down the back of the rad.
the first is a bend
they both have sensors in.

and are about 4 inches in diameter

hi,
i bought the car with some air pipes missing.
so i thought they had just been lost.
the eml light was on and it was noisy and gutless.
but cheap.
anyhow i got some air pipes from a breakers and fitted them
thinking the car would run better.
it runs with them on,
but not with them plugged in.
as the pipes that come out the airbox and go down
have sensors/ plugs on them

any ideas?

i know what the problem is. ive taken many out of omegas
and most are sods.
to be honest the clips are probably free.
but the stereo is so tightly wedged into the cage
you need to lube it.
a tiny bit of wd40 or something will do the trick
although it will stink
it will get the stereo out without pulling the front off !
stick your fingers into the tape slot if you have one and pull it from there as well as with the removal tools.

a 2.0l 16v i once owned and used as a taxi
was great on fuel for an auto.
the 3.0l i have at the moment is pretty good too
far better than the 3.0l 24v senator i just scrapped
which was juicy !
probably due to me doing 120 in it everytime i got on a decent  stretch lol

« on: 04 November 2007, 15:07:33 »
its probably due to them unplugging everything and leaving the battery connected whilst working on the car.
not a good idea as the sensors all give false readings to the ecu
. radio codes usually make mechanics do these things.

anyway i know of a good forum that i use from time to time
here is the link

http://www.ilexa.co.uk/content/category/2/5/2/

if you remove a battery terminal on most modern cars
it sorts out most problems.
not sure on omegas
but its
worth a try

leave the battery terminal off for 30 mins

no headlamp washers gone as usual.
have had 6 elites and only 2 had them still working and intact
used to
sell them on ebay when i broke the cars.

as for the gearbox problem
the filter was £100 with oil.
i just didn't see the point in changing the filter
with a 50/50 chance of it being  a waste of money

£100 for a filter or £100 for a guaranteed gearbox?
the box currently fitted worked ok for about 6 miles
then stopped working all together for  about 5 hours.
then it would drive again for another 2-5 miles and do it again.
yesterday for the first time the gearbox message came up on the display.
now it doesn't move atall  in any gear lol

the n reg elite is running sweet with 80k on the clock
the t reg has 170k on it

Omega General Help / elite t reg autobox
« on: 05 November 2007, 22:50:54 »
I bought a t reg elite in silver last week for £200  :)
a mint car with all the toys
however the autobox problem came with it also.

so i sourced a good gearbox for £100
and got a quote of £120 to fit it
i didnt think it was too bad
what do you guys think ?

i have to get the trans -fluid though.
