right ive got an altonator on the way to my omega as we speak.

is it possible that it could have fried the ECUs + fuses?

twas too wet and cold last night to unplug it and try if that made a difference

PAPER CLIP TEST QUESTIONS

- When i do the test does it reset the fault codes?
ie once i replace the altinator should i do the test again and have a fault free test? (hope and pray) or will the old faults still come up?

Cheers for your help  :y

found that topbuzz site on a google search

Two faults occured

38  -  Oxygen sensor circuit  -  Voltage high

and

49  -   Battery  - Voltage high

Does this mean the water has got in and shorted bits out?

Im a bit lost - more complicated than my mini!

What do i need to do?

hello peps hope u can help me with your expert knolege

i have a 95' 2.0 90k  auto omega ecotech engine

Driving home today in a torrential rain then alll of a sudden the EML comes on allong wid the oil light, the ABS and Air bag. They all kind of come on and off at differnt times.
The car stoped going up the gears an just sluged along at no speed

I pulled over a soon as i noticed this.
waited a while checked the oil level (was fine)
i was onlly 1/2 a mile rom my house so i started it uo again and continued my journey but its not happy - it seems to have gone into a idol mode -

When i put it into the 1 selection on the box it pulls away perfectly
Put it back into drive and it goes all funny again
The ice and sports mode wont engage.
left it for a while whilst i found this forum then just tried it a min ago
started the car in went into sports mode so i reversed up the drive and drove forwards and it has now started again.

After readin a few bits i saw that it might be the Selector switch?
but none of the treads said about all the lights flashing on and off?

any ideas peps

Has any one bought one of the 5 pound ebay chips

My mate bought one and it was a little resistor to short out the air flow meter?

:D bout 30p's worth! surly a paper clip is cheeper!!

Would this actually be a gain to the car?
