I had a similar problem, solved it when I replaced the MAF sensor.

To take care of that haze use a light rubbing compound. Don't use heavy duty. Tape off the surrounding area, I'm kind of particular, I taped everything about six inches away. Use a buffer and let it rip, moving the buffer constantly, up, down and sideways. This takes the heavy haze off. Follow up with a plastic polish, there are many out there. I use Meguiars products and went with their plastic polish. I wish I had taken a before and after picture. Perfecto!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcomes. I was at http://cateraowners.forumotion.com/ and skruntie said I should check your site out. I didn't imagine such nice folks.

I bought my Catera used in November, actually, my wife did and I married into it. She bought it from a dealer 1500 miles away, didn't even look at it. It arrived and the great running car he described wouldn't get up to a crawl. Well, $1500 USD it came to life. She gave it to me and took my car because "it's hard to turn". What luck! I love the car!!

My buddy is starting his own total Catera forum, which I moderate, we're hoping you fine folks might drop in from time to time and let up tap your knowledge and wisdom. http://cateraowners.forumotion.com/

Hi TIA. They are standard chrome. They show every speck of dirt, but when they are cleaned up they really shine!

Hi, I was invited to join up and meet everyone. I've got a 1999 Cadillac Catera. I thought I'd say hello. :)
