Omega General Help / Re: Fuel Injectors, Advice please.
« on: 05 January 2012, 20:25:42 »
Hi All.
Thanks for all the replies, I have fitted some new fuel pipe that I found was leaking from a jubilee clip, she now seems to be running fine,  I have got 136000 miles on the clock, I regularly (twice or three times a year) put a good diesel imjector cleaner through her, aspecially if i am going away pulling the caravan, I average about 5000 miles per year, would she be in need of new injectors at this milage, or has she still got goood miles left in her original injectors, at MOT the guy said he had never seen such low emissions on an X reg car, and she doesnt smoke.
Cheers.

Omega General Help / Fuel Injectors, Advice please.
« on: 04 January 2012, 17:18:22 »
Hi All.
First of all a Happy New Year to everybody. Now onto my problem, I have had to have th AA out to my car, she is an X reg (2000) 2.2 Diesel miggy, Manual. she seemed to have a fuel starvation problem, the AA guy who was very helpful, told me the seals were probably leaking in the injectors and they would need rebuilding, I have phoned a garage in Scarborough who told me it would be an expensive job because they would have to remove the Cam,  I have a fair knowledge of mechanics, but have never worked on a miggy, can anybody please tell me if this is an easy job, also is it as cheap to have the injectors rebuilt or would it be just as well to put new injectors in, also has anybody any idea how much injectors cost per one.
Cheers.

« on: 30 December 2011, 14:51:47 »
Hi All.
I have a 2.2 diesel miggy on a manual. I tow a caravan. I have heard about chipping but I am not quiet sure what it is, would it benefit me in towing power to have my car chipped?? also would it help to save on any fuel, plus does it have any other benefits or would I just be wasting my cash. Happy New Year to All.
Cheers

Omega General Help / Re: OK,Ive Cocked Up Somewhere, Any Ideas
« on: 01 December 2011, 22:04:50 »
Also. I do not know if it will have any bearing but, when she was ticking over at about 600, I gentley press the accelerator and she seem to hesitate for a brief second then jumps up from 600 on the rev counter then climbs normaly, I let the gas off, then apply gas again and it does exactly the same thing, seems to stick for a micro second then suddenly raise in revs..  (If that makes Sense)

Omega General Help / OK,Ive Cocked Up Somewhere, Any Ideas
« on: 01 December 2011, 21:30:13 »
 >:( Hi Guys.  Miggy. 2.2 Diesel

Can anybody give me any ideas, I wanted to put a hand prime (Rubber Ball Type) between my Fuel Filter and my Injector Pump. I have cut the Out Pipe (That goes from the Fuel Filter to the Injector Pump) and fitted the primer bulb, with direction of flow to the Pump, I have used a small jubilee clip over both ends fuel pipe and made sure they are tight. I have also put in a new fuel filter. I filled the filter bowl with Diesel Magic and re-assembled it. I had to use Cold Start to fire her up, and I left her runnning on a slightly fast tickover for 10 minutes, I let her stand idle for about 2 hrs then fired her up took her to the garage to have an Oil Flush and new Oil with Filter. She drove home fine. I left her for about 3 hours and went out to put her on he drive, she just turned over and wouldnt fire, I had to use Cold Start down the Air Vent to fire her up again, once running she is like a dream, I took her for a blast along the Motorway and she breezed along at 90mph, home and she ticked over fine. I left her for two hours and went out to put her on the drive, and she wouldnt start again. has anybody any ideas what I could try, or look for. I have had her for 3.5yrs and never had any trouble until today, it must be something I have done or cocked up in some way..
Chaeers.

I am giving my Miggy a full service, she has 13600 miles on the clock and she is a 2.2 Diesel. I am considering sending my Injectors away for refurbishing, on of the guys at work told me there is an engineering firm that does this. Has anybody had this done, and is it effective.
Cheers

:) OK, So i have kicked the Slick 50 out of the window. now this will cause a good debate. so what is the BEST oil I can get for my Miggy. I mean the best oil, no the most expensive, not that price matters when I am doing my Miggy, but the most expensive is not allways the best.

Omega General Help / Re: Fitting Hand Primer to fuel pipe
« on: 26 November 2011, 20:58:54 »
Brikhead.
Hi. I dont have a problem now, but earlier this year I parked my miggy on the caravan site, and she was back end down, all the fuel ran back from the fuel filter, so one of the guys advised me that when she was running, to fit a hand primer pump the the inline fuel filter and as it had a one way valve there would always be fuel stacked up in the injector pump, apparantely its a common problem on miggies, and yes its a 2.2 Diesel. was going to sell it, but just removed all the for sale ads from the net and local area, cant bring myself to get rid of her, best car I have ever had, followed second by a Vauxhall Senator.

I want to fit a hand primer to the fuel feed pipe, there are two pipes that come off the top of the fuel filter housing, there is one marked "Out" and one marked "In" does anybody know which one I cut to fit the primer.
Thank You
