Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: CCR 2006 Problem
« on: 21 September 2008, 01:01:07 »
This is what I mean mate, I push it all the way back and expect it to click into place and shut the door but it wont accept it.

No matter how hard I shove it (and I dont really think it will go any further back as the front of the mag is past the door flap) it just doesnt accept it,

I guess its broken

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CCR 2006 Problem

Hi Everyone,  I've just bought a 2003 Omega 2.2 Diesel Elite but the Stereo doesnt want to take CD's - Radio and Tape work fine but the 4 Tray CD Loader wont be accepted by the CD player.

Can I safely assume that its knockered or is there something easy to fix it - WHen I eject the drawer opens but as I push the magazine inwards it just sits there asif a sensor switch telling the cd player to drag the magazine in isnt working.

If in the worse case scenario I have to replace it I was looking at buying a satnav etc from ebay for a couple of hundred quid - has anyone got any experience with non vaxhall double din stereo's ?

Kindest Regards

Mike

theres a lot of this going on at the moment, many garages and especially supermarket garages are using bio fuel as an additive to the regular fuel, its playing havoc with everyones cars.

Omega General Help / Re: Cuts out after 20 minutes

I dont think I can do a paperclip test or pedal test on mine, but my mate popped round with his reader and yes, Crank Sensor and Mass Air Intake thingy which may be throwing up due to the crank sensor.  Either way, 30 quid for new crank sensor and fitting it tomorrow

Thanks Guys (Again)

Omega General Help / Cuts out after 20 minutes

Hi Everyone

Can anyone shed any light on my vauxhall.

Starts fine, runs fine, purrs like a kitten then 10 minutes down the road, stops at low revs and refuses to start until the engine cools down after 30 minutes then the whole process reoeats itself.

Any Idea's ?

Souns about right mate, my dads got the same car and he gets around that mpg

Yes its totally flat on power, especially at low revs, its been completely serviced, new everything and now new glowplugs. I am at a loss, my mechanic is out of idea's too!

Such a pity as the car was great, now its just a sod to start, averageing 29-30 Mpg and flat as a pancake.

I am seriously open to idea's

Hmmmm, Well the seals were ok, no signs of leaking diesel.   Just changed the glow plugs as two of them were a little bit sooty so 4 x NGK's later.

Alas, I am still getting 30 mpg.  I just think this is very low.

Any Idea's guys ?

The injector seals. Found a receipt in my service history saying mine had been done before I bought the car and was told by Opel Ireland that it was a common problem with the 2.2Dti. I'm no mechanic though, just going on what they told me!

I'm not sure I know what these are, would they explain the poor mpg too ?

Omega General Help / 2.2 Diesel Elite - What MPG should I be getting
« on: 29 December 2008, 18:53:33 »
Hi y'all

I've noticed that my elite 2.2dti Diesel (2003 with 53k Miles) is returning about 30 mpg and is becoming a sod to start on these cold mornings.  My initial reaction is to change the glo-plugs but as I dont know a great deal about these things I though I would come here first.

Also I am pretty sure that I used to get 36 mpg on avegage,  What do you guys think ?

Oh and Happy new year by the way

Recently got Omega 2.2 auto a few months ago, no problems at with except in teh last few weeks.  The Engine light in coming on.  I'll be driving along and the eml comes on, the car still drive perfectly with no reduction in power etc etc.

The problem is I've had the car into vauxhall twice and they've said there's no fault codes stored.  I've since bought a fault code reader which I've plugged in again its shows no fault codes stored. As a result I don;t know ehere to start.  Is there any common items that cause teh eml to triggered but not store codes?

Which light? Page 12 http://homepage.ntlworld.com/andrew.reynolds983/Manuals/Omega2002Manual.pdf

Blimey, I'm glad I just read the manual again, My Eghaust Emmissions light has started coming on when I start the engine and the going off about 30 seconds later,  I dont know why its started to do this but the manual is saying that this is normal  ? ? ?

Omega General Help / Re: Siren whilst driving

There is enough room to remove the unit without taking off the bracket so only undo the small nut facing up on top of the sounder and slide it out.

New unit is around £58 +vat from the dealers if you decide to keep your system up to spec for the insarance.

Steve

I thought it was only the sounder I was removing, the main alarm uses the horn doesnt it ?

Hi Everyone

Whilst driving to work this morning my 2.2 DTI Elite started making a siren alarm noise from under the bonnet.  The engine was running and nothing seemed to be happening to the car other than this siren.

The actual car alarm as such uses the horn sounder so I am a little complexed as to what an earth is making this noise and why ? ? ? ?

Can anyone shed any light on this one please - I wouldnt be able to replicate the problem again as I havent got the foggiest idea what caused it?

Thanks in advance

There is also a siren as part of the alarm. It lives just under the plastic scuttle under the wipers on the driver's side. The batteries die & leak causing the problem you have/had. Disconnect it and shove it in a corner wrapped in a blanket (see other threads) till the battery is truely dead, & think nothing more about it!  ::)  ;)  :y  :y  :y

Wow, thanks for a speedy reply - ho do I go about locating it and removing it - bear in mind I am not too mechanically minded

Thanks Again
