sonds like you got a pin hole in the heater matrix, you could always check for loose connections  at point of entry to matrix, could suggest you try a rad sealer?if all else fails as matrix not so handy to gain access and remove

Omega General Help / Re: Two into six will go or will it?

ok vauxfan2k point taken, but my 98 cd is getting alittle old in the tooth with 182k and a lot of tlc i am looking to up grade to the newer shape,in fact the elite sounds right up my street but for the eng size,   on that note i have a spare car complete with 40k on the clock,as far as im concerned the 2ltr is more so a viable option, nyway back to ecu changeover would it be straight forward?after all vauxhall do a 2ltr  in the new shape, one assumes it should be fairly straight forward.

Omega General Help / Two into six will go or will it?

been contemplating buying an MV6 and replacing the heart of the matter with an xev2ltr, now i know your all saying whattt is this guy on,but i can assure you when you have to pay road tax of over 1500 euro per anum, you too would consider the logic of such a quander. my main reasoning behind the idea is to upgrade to a more sumptious and of course leather clad expierience than that of my cd,
my main querie after you all stop laughing is it possible to transplant the xev into the mv6 and would the ecu be much of aproblem to hook up to,the mechanical aspect would not be a problem as i do all my own maintenance myself perhaps you could enlighten?

have you checked the wiring which runs from boot compartment to boot lid, check for broken wires where the loom bends as bootlid opens and closes,if broken a little solder and wrap with insulation tape.

at the moment im pulling my hair out, when started from cold car runs fine, when normal opperating temp is reached tickover becomes erratic racing up to 1500-2500rpm sometimes it behaves itself and sometimes it races and drives me mad. i have come to the conclusion that possibly the crank sensor is at fault, any suggestions pablo
