Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CAR 400 Free to Good Home
« on: 22 October 2008, 19:09:34 »
I have been given a CAR 400 but I have no use for it, not sure if it works or not or what the code is, looks to be as new condition.

If anyone wants it they can have it for the cost of the postage to send it or you can collect it from Bolton

Just let me know as it will be going in the bin this weekend.

Cheers

Tony

I worked for Recoton between 1986 and 2001 as one of their Technical Managers so we may have spoken before, although I was more involved with the Videogame side of the company (the fun bit  :D)

I was based in the main Manchester office/warehouse, trying to think of the guy that ran the car audio side, Steve somebody, based in Waterlooville I think?

I used to work for them, well I worked for the parent company  Recoton.

Recoton went bust and I beleive the Mac audio company was bought out by the Mac Audio managment at the time?

Hi

I have just vaxed all the water from the footwell in my omega after clearing all the crud from the scuttle.

However since doing this the engine management light has come on, not sure if its related or not, how can I check what the faukt will be, I have been looking on Ebay and noticed the Tech2 devices and software for about £20 and wandered if it is worth buying one?

Hi Again,

Just noticed in the paperwork that came with the car, on the Car Pass it states radio type 0400, but there is also a radio pass which states CD300.

Does it look like its been changed for a lower spec model at some timeon the cars life?

That would explain it then !!  ::)

The display works fine and the radio works fine its just the steering controls, which radio CD do you think would be the correct one?

Omega General Help / Crank Sensor Wanted
« on: 02 February 2009, 11:49:25 »
Hi Guys,

Sorry for posting this here but for some reason I cant post in the wanted section?

I am looking for a crank sensor for a 1997 2.5 V6 omega estate, and wandered if anyone had one they wanted to sell, looking for a new one really.

I have some photos of the old connection and it looks to be oblong with rounded corners so not really an oval shape?

Cheers

Its the estate Tourer and the boot lock is also deadlocked, that was my first though get in through there....but no :-(

Surely Vauxhall wouldnt make it so as you can't get in once deadlocked if the battery goes flat !!!   would they ??  >:(
