Omega General Help / Seatbelt Pretensioner Fault
« on: 19 October 2015, 12:31:50 »
The air bag light is on showing a fault. I have a computer program to read the faults and it shows 'Driver Pretensioner High Resistance' Looking in the measuring Blocks it shows the resistance as 6.6 ohms. The passenger side shows 2.2 ohms. Could this be just a wiring fault. If so where do I look. I don't know where the pretensioner is.

The problem is I am due for an MOT and the light just indicates an airbag fault and is a failure.

Omega General Help / ABS Sensors
« on: 28 September 2011, 22:14:57 »
Can anyone explain why I can't get a front ABS sensor from anywhere other than a dealer or a breakers? Looking on line and at motor factors there are sensors available for many cars including Vauxhall, but not the Omega. >:(

Dealer wants £78 for front one.

Do you know where the Power Sounder is on the later models? Haynes say under the left wing but this does not cover the new model. I've seen here that it could be under the scuttle whichy I assume is the cover against the bulkhead containing the window washers.

Also I thought the alarm set off the car horns but Haynes mention another alarm horn under the bulkhead :-?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Power Sounder

Have had my car for some years but have never heard the power sounder. Had assumed that it only sounded if you disconnect the battery. But should it sound with the horns when the alarm is activated? :question

Omega General Help / Re: ABS & Traction Light On

Its possible. I did tap it a few times and tried to get a flat blade behind it to lever off but it's not visibly broken in any way.

Omega General Help / ABS & Traction Light On
« on: 29 June 2011, 18:59:08 »
I recently did some work on the front suspension and had to disconnect one ABS sensor. Couldn't get it off of the hub so just disconnected at the plug. During reassembly I started the car with the sensor still disconnected. When all back together found the lights still on even though the sensor is connected. Does this have to be reset manuallly? Can I do it myself?

Omega General Help / Re: Replacing Cam Cover Gaskets - Beware

I went straight to dealer because the guide said not to trust third party parts.

Will consult members in future.

Omega General Help / Re: Headlight Switch back light change/replace
« on: 20 October 2010, 14:09:08 »
Never tried it on the Omega but had a similar switch module on my old Senator. (Ahhhh that WAS a car). The lamps were not intended for replacement as with all of the illuminated switches but managed to find some small pea lamps with wire connections in Radio Spares catalogue. Removed switch, opened carefully with small driver and blade and soldered the lamps in. Not a difficult job. :)

Omega General Help / V6 facelift spark plug replacement problem.
« on: 18 October 2010, 13:02:58 »
Just replaced the plugs on my V6 but no way could I get to pot 6. Any ideas? Took off the usual air by-pass and wiring loom moved aside but no way could I get a plug spanner to No6.
Also some of the plug bores wer full of engine oil. Where could this be comming from? :-?

Is it correct that you can change the standard paper element type for a spin on canister?
I can't remove the filter can and I'm sure I'm going to wreck it in doing so.
