Omega General Help / Re: Link to TD thermostat how to on net?
« on: 23 January 2009, 22:17:03 »
I changed mine last week. Removed the black air box that runs left to right across the front of the engine and is connected to the inlet. Disconnected the egr pipe at the top end and the middle support to gain a little more access to the top bolt. I then removed the large rubber hose that connects the air filter box to the turbo and this let me get to the two bottom bolts from the drivers side with a cranked combination spanner. Didnt bother removing the hose that goes on the thermostat housing, just bent it to the side to remove stat. Make sure the "o" ring is seated correctly when you replace it and as mentioned don't go mad when you tighten the bolts. Didn't take very long to do. Hope this helps :) :y

« on: 20 December 2008, 11:15:22 »
My remote fob stopped working a couple of weeks ago but now my key won't open the door. It will not even turn in the lock. I have managed to get in the car through the boot but now cannot lock the car. Any help on this one appreciated.

The car is a bit down on performance and the climate does not work properly. I noticed the filter whilst trying to find a vacuum leak.

Omega General Help / 2.5 TD filter thing
« on: 14 December 2008, 15:42:19 »
Hi
I have a 2.5 td P reg. My question is that there is a small filter at the back right hand side of the engine bay(looks like a fuel filter). There is a rubber elbow top and bottom but nothing else, should there not be a pipe or something in these elbows? What job does the filter do?
Regards :) Tim

Omega General Help / Climate Control

Hi
I own a P reg 2.5 td and at the moment do not have very much climate at all. My car will only blow cold air on the screen but nowhere else. Some heat (not very much) drifts out of the driver's side vent in line with the steering wheel. I have tried to re set it by holding the buttons advised in the Haynes manual but still nothing. Where would be the best place to start to look. Thanks in advance for any help.
Tim :)
