CAN'T GET IN
« on: 20 December 2008, 11:15:22 »

My remote fob stopped working a couple of weeks ago but now my key won't open the door. It will not even turn in the lock. I have managed to get in the car through the boot but now cannot lock the car. Any help on this one appreciated.

Won't your central locking even work from the boot? What's the state of the car's battery?

No the central locking won't work from the boot.Battery is fine. The key will not even move left or right to activate the central locking it is solid :(

Should do. Chuck a load of WD40 Easit/penetrating fluid in the lock.

sounding like the barrel has sliped a spring from the link rod at back of lock, try activating your central lock from the inside lock/switch and repair/replace the barrel...

Sounds like lack of use to me. Mine was difficult to move at one time, but better after a liberal dosing of penetrating fluid & lubricating.  :y

Shhhh! Not so loud! ;) Mark'll tell you off for using a water disperser. ;D You need something a little more substatial though for longer term lubrication .... I tend to give them a squirt of chain lub .... it's a bit stickier. :y :y :y
