« on: 22 May 2009, 13:43:17 »

The main problem being an old git and not speaking German I like the old British style of diagrams and dare I say like Rover use too.
I’m planning on fitting a JVC KD-DV7402.

Can anyone please supply a legible wiring diagram for a 1996 CDx Radio connections? Not one of those stupid German thing in the Haynes comic. Also doses anyone knows if there is an AUX terminal on the ignition switch? I know that I have to start the engine or certainly switch to ignition on to get the radio on.

Hi Scottie,
I have bought a ISO Car Audio harness for the JVC to ISO but I can't turn the radio on without have ignition key in position II I would expect to be able to turn it on in position I. Or am I wrong?

Omega General Help / Cam Belt Change
« on: 21 July 2009, 13:33:47 »
Hi I'm about to do a head gasket change so I thought I would do the Cam Belt at the same time. I have a copy of your excellent DVD on Cam Belts. I have bought a genuine cam belt from my local Vauxhall dealer and noticed it has no direction markings on the belt. Does this mean it can be fitted any way round?

Thanks I'll have a good look when I get home, I was hopping that it is something simple but when you'er away from home with no tools or anything it's easy to think the worst.

Cheers

Omega General Help / Electrical Problem
« on: 21 May 2009, 09:15:43 »
Help,
Yesterday whilst driving from Glasgow to Edinburgh before retuning home to Warwick I got a Brake light Fuse fault indicated. I change the fuse and this blow the next time I used the brakes. I then found I have no indicators, Radio and the air-con started to play up the air –con AUTO light flashed and the fan kept hunting so I remove the fuse.
So now I’m back home I have got to sort things out. I have no Trip Computer, No Brake lights, No Indicator, No Radio, and only ½ brilliance interior light. The remote central locking works OK but I get no lights flash.
Before I start to tear my hair out (what little I have) has anyone had this type of fault before and knows what the cause is likely to be?

Cheers

Omega General Help / Re: Air Fliters.

How do you work that out? cold air is much better than warm air going into an egine because its denser so when it mixes with the petrol which is controled by the ECU is fired by the plug it exspands more giving more power.

Out of interest I was looking on E-bay and I noticed that there are a number of Vectra 2.5 V6 plenums being sold. would it be possible to fit these on to my 2.5 V6 engine as they have a single inlet so it can be fitted with a K&N filter system. also being a later design I would hope it is a better design? I guess the main problem would be the connections for the ECU?

Hi I had the same problem before the MoT. it turn out to be the pump itself. I bought one from Vaux-World  07736 285343      e-mail   admin@vaux-world.com for about £9. My local Vauxhall dealer wanted £39 for the same thing

Thanks If there is a problem of a build up of pressure then could I not fit a small presure release valve in the covers? any idea what sort of presure are we talking about?
