Hi all and happy new year. I have an N reg Omega saloon with a cd300 head unit. There is sound coming out of the passenger side speakers and the rear drivers side but nothing (bass and tweeter) coming out of the drivers side front. bought a new bass speaker fitted no differnece. joined (via bullet connectors) the drivers rear and drivers front outputs togeather to see if i got even some sound, nothing! Im a little confused, help.

Cheers for your help people and thank for the info on HID's, the headlights are really bad i must say all yellowy and not a very large beam.

Hi, this may sound like a dumb question but, what type of headlight is fitted to my car. its a 1996 2.5td CD it looks like its a projector type (not xenon), the headlight bulb fits into a lens that seems to be magified and is circular. And the front of the unit is clear plastic. but not sure. I have heard the name poly-oliptic? Can someone help because im tottally confused. Thany you. Scott :-/

Hi mikey.s, i have just had my car on axle stands and i found the steering idler to be broken. If you pull the wheel from side to side and look at the idler you will see if its broken. Mine is broken at the bottom (link between idler and link arm). Found a new idler on e-bay for £24+ £6.50 p+p. Just to note, does the steering feel as if the front wheels are fighting between themselves? and do you have to compensate the steering pull?. if so then thats the symptoms that i have.

Thank you for your help, Im going to degreae and jetwash the engine bay as there is a lot of oil sludge and dirt build up around the intercooler hoses, i put fuel system cleaner thought it and it has helped but is still very slow (medium hill at 45mph, floored in 4th thats it!). May sound stupid but can you hear the turbo come on boost? Thanks Pitchfork for the offer, i went to the scrappy and got a cd500 (£20) with a code. Going to look at wishbones next, are they difficult to do as a diy job or do you need presses and stuff? Happy New year. 8-)

Omega General Help / Have a few problems with my Omega 2.5td CD (N reg)

Hello and merry christmas, hope everyone has had a good time. I recently bought an N reg omega 2.5td CD for £200!. I'm trying to find a replacement cd player but cannot find one anywhere, it's a cd300 blaupunkt version. Second problem, would vauge steering and a pull(feels like fighting between front wheels) to the left indicate track rod ends and wishbones?. The last problem is the performace? it's done 201k (no history) and will not pull past 4000rpm (in 2nd and up (manual)) and feels very slow (poor economy). Am i expecting alot from the car as i'm used to a 4yr old 407 peugot 2.2hdi. It's smoke free (i thought it was turbo at first) and is smooth revving, hits 80mph with ease (given a bit of time), not lumpy, starts first time, no warning light and no noises or knocks. I think for the money i paid it's amazing, all the electrics work inside and its clean, even the heated seats work and it rattles less than my 407. I think it's a totally amazing car!!
