Omega General Help / Adjust handbrake
« on: 17 March 2011, 20:03:42 »
Hello

MOT on my car is soon due and the handbrake is just barly working when the lever is pulled all the way up.
Any one here who know how to adjust it? I would think it is done from under the car. Any panels that needs to be taken off and is it a big job?
My car is a Omega 2.0 16V 1997 mod.

Daniel,

the grills are the same on all models. the front fogs sit inboard of the grills.

you can use your existing bumper, but you will need a different skin (the bit that is the colour of the car.

they are easy to swap over, or just pick up a complete front bumper with fogs in from salvage.

the wiring for the lights will all be there. As long as you have the switch under the the main light switch on the dash, all you need is a fuse in position 16 (from memory) in the fusebox under the steering wheel. There is no relay for the front fogs, which simplifies things.

Hi!

Thanks for the info. Will it be possible to cut out the holes for the fog lights in my existing bumper?

The wiring should already be behind the bumper. So long as you get the foglights complete with there loom. I take it you have a GLS model?

Hmm, GLS? All I know is that it is a 1997 mod. 2.0L 16V
Aut. Sedan....

Thanks for a quick reply. Do you know anything about the wireing? Where to take the power from or if I need any relays for it?

Hello

Anyone who knows if it's possible to retrofit fog lights on a 1997 mod? Will they fit in to the small "grills" in the bumper?

Omega General Help / TID question
« on: 17 June 2010, 20:51:23 »
Hello!

My TID-display is not working anymore. I've seen a lot of second hand for sale but the part number is not the same, however the plug every thing else looks exactly the same as the one I have. Does anyone here know if I need to replace it with the exactly the same part number or will it work with a similar one. I drive a '97 2.0 16V.
Thanks

Omega General Help / EML light on, and fault code 0130...
« on: 13 June 2010, 23:33:09 »
Hi guys!

I have an Omega 2.0 16V 97mod. and the EML light comes on about 1 minute after I start the engine. I did the paperclip test and got the code 0130, indicating that there is a problem with the O2 sensor. Should I change it right away or is it something  else I should check to rule out any other problems that can give this fault?
Thanks!

Thanks!
I'll try that tomorow, but I'm afraid that it might be under the heatshield... It is possible to cut it off? Looks like it's spot-welded on. (The heatshield around the pipe that is)

Omega General Help / Exhaust - How do I find the leak >:(
« on: 15 March 2009, 19:18:31 »
Hi guys!

After fixing a new flex-joint on the exhaust and replacing a broken stud on the manifold there is still a leak. It sounds like it's between the cat and the manifold. Any good tips on how to find it?
Thanks!
Daniel

Yes, thanks I'll try to use the trick with the flat steel. Were you able to drill the studs out with the cylinder head still in the car or did you have to take it out? It's not much space around the manifold........

Just discoverd that one of the exhaust manifold studs on my Omega are broken, and I can hear there are a leak when I rev up the engine.
I can see that the previous owner have tried to drill it out, but not been able to make the hole in the stud in the center.
Do I need to take the cylinder head off, or is it possible to drill / grind it out when mounted in the car?
If I need to take the head out, is it any how-to guides on the forum or online?
Thanks for all help:)
