Omega General Help / estate wanted
« on: 21 April 2009, 15:13:43 »
Hi! I'm still looking for as recent as possible top-of-the-range 3.2 estate. Can the price quoted in the ad below be regarded as a serious one? Seems rather on the high side to me, especially for the milage. I'd appreciate the advice of aficionados.

Thanks & here's hoping to join the ranks of the Omega owners!

Um. Probably daft question from a green Newbie . . .
What's the difference between the 3.0 & the 3.2?
Could it really be 200 ccs?

Omega General Help / Wheels - mainly - and ex-police
« on: 18 February 2009, 15:14:25 »
Don't know what happened there but my message got posted before I'd written it - so here we go again!

I'm a newbie looking for an Elite 3.2 estate.
Can members please let me have their thoughts on the advantages and or otherwise of buying an ex-police model.
Also, what advantages would 17in wheels give?  I'm concerned that they would make the ride harder without providing that much extra handling ability.
I've had experience of this on a BMW where the standard wheels gave a much more comfortable and quieter ride.

Thanks for your help and I look forwrd to getting to know you all - or some of you anyway!

Newbie Welcome Area / Hallo everyone!

Hallo! Another Newbie registering in . . .
I currently have a 16 year old BMW with 308,000 miles on the clock.  The engine's perfect - hardly run-in and doesn't use any oil - but the body and interior's getting tatty and the steering & suspension wearing out.  Still, she's done me well and I believe that a late ex-police Omega would provide a suitable and cost-effective replacement for a year or three.  Let me have your thoughts and also, what advantages would the 17in wheels give?  I'm concerned that they would make the ride harder without providing that much extra handling ability.
Simon-Omega has already provided valuable information & help.
Cheers!  Khyber

And she was in the Newcomers back in the sixties.  Her father (in the series) drove a Rover 2000 and his boss had a Jag Mk X.  Her young brother is now some old stager whoes name escapes me.

And I claim not to watch the televisor . . .
