My rear blind is stuck up too :-( From reading around these forums, it tends to be one of three things. It's either just jammed and giving it a helping 'push' my get it to go down. Or, the gears inside the motor have jammed. Or, the circuit board that has the relays on it that is attached to the motor has failed circuit paths.

Like me, you are probably going to have to have the rear seats out and remove it all to find the fault. Follow the excellent guide on here.

If you get one that doesn't match your model very much like yours Froezen then any of the admins with a tech2 can do it far cheaper than any Vx dealer will. See http://theboy.omegaowners.com

There are several different models, and each model can have several different firmware versions. You need to take yours out and look at the model number on the back (and see how many plugs and what clour they are).

Taking it out is a doddle. There's a guide on here for removing the instrument cluster. Just follow that. I have had mine out several times and can do it now in under 5 minutes :-)

I managed to get a replacement for my knackered MID, but it's from a 2.0 car (mines a 2.5) so the mpg is wildly optimistic. My local dealer quoted me £40 to reprogram it, with no guarentees it will work because they have never done it before and are not sure how (thier words, not mine!).

Right, took my mid out and cleaned the ribbon cable contacts where they connect to the circuit board (after de-soldering the button connectors).

Thought i'd done a good job right up to the point where I was re-assembling it all and I cracked the LCD   goddamit!!

I put it back in the car anyway to see what happened. The backlight no longer works, and part of the screen is blank. Other parts work better than before so if I hadn't cracked the glass I may have cured it  

Soooo, anyone got a MID (90 379 234) from a 2.5 v6 cdx auto?

Would need reprograming (assumming it fits).

MID's need following info:

Engine type,
Gearbox,
Wheel size,
and anything Ive forgotting to mention.

Dang, i'll stop watching that 'ebay' unit then :-(

Would a MID from a 2.0 Omega work in my 2.5 v6 Omega assuming the plugs are the same (it's an early 2 plug type). Or, would it need re-programming for the engine size difference?

My 97 cdx has this head with a cd changer. The changer is located in the boot behind a panel on the drivers side. I think there should be a first aid kit in there too but mines long gone.

As for the radio code, my book says the radio briefly display 'CODE' on the display each time it is turned on if the code is enabled.
