Omega General Help / Cutting out !!

1996 2.5 turbo diesel, driving spot on returning 36.2mpg so the computer said when suddenly she juddered a bit and stalled, pulled over and tried to restart it just kept cranking over but not firing, gave it another go and it sort of fired on 2 cylinders and then picked up, drove another 10 miles with no problem at all then it did it again, again it cleared eventually and i drove home ( another 15 miles) let it stand for an hour and now it cranks over and over and wont start for about 5 turns of the key then it fires on two and picks it self back up to run perfect, some one said could be the fuel pump ? any one got any ideas ??
Any help gratefully appreciated, ive to go from Lincoln to Penrith at the weekend and i am getting a bit worried...thanks in advance

Same problem i had a few weeks ago...i looked around all the vauxhalls in the scrap yard and they seem to have a different angle to them on the omega, mine ahd been pulled apart so i needed the full thing including the colum lock, dont forget when you get one to swop the chip from your existing key over to the new key else she wont go it will screw up the immobiliser dont know if its any help but Roger Windley's in Tattershall Lincolnshire has got about 6 Omegas in think they do postal spares (01526) 342555 gibe him a try

Hi and thanks for that...
mines a 96 (N) 2.5 td estate...
so i need the key and bit round the barrel, and the main ecu as well??
do you know if the deisel ecu and any of the petrol ones are the same ?? also where is it located (the mai ecu if i need it) ?

Hi again does any one know what are the main parts of the immobiliser..im off to the scrappy to try and fix my 2.5td, is it just the key, the bit round the barrel and the box in the foot well or is there more to it???
any help greatly appreciated

Omega General Help / immobiliser bypass???

Hi all, hope you can help....
i bought a 96 2.5 TD omega estate the immobiliser is locked on... the little running man is flashing...  in position two the engine management light is flashing...the indicators are flashing...and so are the interior lights, and of course it wont go.
there is a relay ticking in the passenger foot well and occassionally the immob unit in the drivers footwell has a clicking session as well
is there any way to bypass this sorry affair to get her back on the road??? any help greatly appreciated
