Omega General Help / gutted for my omega

Hello, well where do i start. My poor omega came up with automatic gearbox on the dash. So i got my car towed back home. Then i took her down to my local garage and asked them to put it on the computer for me, check the gearbox oil and quote me on a full service. got a phone call to go down to them and when i got there they told me a bearing by the cambelt had gone and needed changing, Asked how much and got quoted 950!!! I know ths is not true because i already had a mobile mechanic out to have a look. Anyway as i went to drive of the engine management light came on, it coughed and juddered even worse than before and had a oil leake from the back end of the engine. There was also no brakes until you hit about 15mph, before then they are rock hard!!! The garage told me its not there fault and i cant afford the time or money to sort her out!!! With a tear in my eye i am going to have to sell her as spares or repairs!! She is in beautiful condition and has 105 000 miles with near perfect service history. I would rather sell her to someone on here as i know what ever happens to her she would be looked after, If you know anyone interested please let me know.

Cheers

rich

P.S i got told she is a ex chauffers car. immaculate condition  2.5 v6 cdx estate

Thank you all for your help. As regards to jonathan's message. I was driving along the motorway at about 85, as i can onto the slip road slowing down it flashed up auto gearbox on the inboard computer, about a 1/4 mile down the road it started to judder when i put any amount of acceleration down. It change gear and still drives but judders. I pulled over as soon as i could and got towed back to minimize the amount of damage.

Thank you marie. I live in radford, coventry. I have been doing some research into garages around coventry and there is only a few that people have not moaned about!!! Not good. Some garages are quoting me £1200 to fix the problems with the car which is day light robbery.

sorry again for not getting back to your helpful words quicker. I work 12 hour night shifts and have jist done 15 on the bounce :(

thanks again
