Omega General Help / Is this Crank sensor or worse??
« on: 14 July 2009, 03:23:16 »
Hey everyone,
Had my omega for just over a week now 1st had a problem with the Cooling Fan thats sorted was just the 40A fuse,

Problem now is Just filled up with fuel driving back home and suddenly the car just died engine cut out and all lights came on! Restarted 1st time then did it again 2 mins later have tried the paperclip test! but all that seems to do is make the engine management light turn off it doesnt flash or anything :(

have left the car running for about half hour and it seems ok no drop in revs or anything then took it for a spin round the block for about half a mile and it was fine

Any help?

Thanks

Beau

Hi thanks for your reply, I cant see any sign of cracks or water leaking im more worried now that the fan isnt coming on,

Is there a fuse or could it be a sensor?

Omega General Help / Help Please Car Over Heated
« on: 07 July 2009, 17:05:36 »
Hi Please bear with me as i know nothing about engines

I was driving down the road and someone pulled out on me so had to slam on the breaks for a splt second i didnt come to a stop but herd a strange pop noise,

Steam was escaping from the bonnet area (but only for about 5 seconds) where the water goes and the temp guage was in the red i continued driving cos i couldnt find a safe place to stop!

As i continued to drive the temp guage went slowly down and still in the 90 - 100*c mark but not in red

A friend suggested that it could be an airlock but i cant see where the steam escaped from as all pipes are intact and look ok

Also during this time the fan never came on :(

I have only had the car a week since my last cars head gasket blew up

Thanks

Beau
