Generators is my trade . ?   your best option cost wise is to buy a small generator, there is no propblem supplying your own prooerty so long as you isolate the mains incoming supply, you can buy or make a change over panel that will do this automatically or manualy , just remember small sesitive equpment ie tv/laptops/computors etc do not like a unstable supply of volts/hz  ,  but yes do it i have ??

Hi all ive a 2.5 v6 99 plate omega its been great car used every day ? today it started fired up then cut out ? tried it several times if i feather the gas it eventually starts and revs no prob but idles rough (and the light ecu light came on ) .  left it at home off to work like you do !  tonight i disconected the egr valvecable and it ran a dream ?  (do i need to trick the egr valve wires ive reconected them )  so ive blanked of the egr valve ,it was ok for 10mins then it all started running rough again and sounded like it was trying to back fire up the air filter ? i removed and check the air filter pipes etc and cleand out the icv ?  it ran a treet went for a spin loads of power till i did a u turn it died managed to get it running eventually after feathering the gas to get it home . yes the ecu lights on and i will check the code tomorow . is there a list of codes on here for that engine .  any help guidance would really be apreciated (my first thought was fuel pump relays but it runs ? )

hi thanks for replys   ive done the clip test   code 31 and 12  this is normal reports engine no rpm as exspected and 12=start of test
where is the crankshaft sensor located ?? i can see the canshaft sensor connections
what reading should i be getting from theses if i connect my multi meter to them (ie is it a pulse or a rise in voltage if they work like a mag pick up ? )
can any body reccomed how to test them please ??
just to top it off the gritters are out and temp is dropping its getting cool out side /

Hi all my 2.5 v6 1999 petrol auto omega   has let me down ??   the fault 1st happed 3wks ago   turn key engine cranks wont start ?  loss of spark ? went back next night to fix it  and it starts ? ran for 3wks no faults no miss fire  1st class running . then saturday drove it all day no faults and sunday wont start ?   
The engine cranks the cam belts not snapped
i have no fuel pump running
i have no spark at the plugs
the ingnition park is good
ive tested the fuel pump it runs ive checked the fuel pump relays
the imobilizer seams to be off
any help would be good thanks

thanks for replys, it grinds on the speed bumps now and with 5 folks in it ive got no chance i have to avoid the bumps ,or go real slow so  i think with may caravan on i ve got i problem,where can i get some uprated assistors from ,thanks.
