Be very hard to find a second hand one as are bonded in and very rearly come out whole. Best bet is like the baron said insurance company or go to a local windscreen place preferably a small company and not one of the bigger boys :y

Yes forget the big nationals.  ::)  I had one fitted to mine a couple of years ago for £136 at a local indy.  Autoglass quoted £850 ish and when I recovered from my heart attack they dropped it to £600 ish.  They even phoned me back later and offered £350!  ::)  ;D

It would be interesting to know what the insurance companies pay as they all use Autoglass and the like.  :-\

I'll give you three guesses.

I don't think you'll need all three.

They say claiming for windscreen dont affect your premium but who's paying for it ? Nothing is for free .. my premium went up after a windscreen replacement  >:(

Windscreen claim shouldn't affect your no claims bonus. And I been in the windscreen trade for many years. Unless your getting a new screen every month.

Thats what im saying , it shouldnt but come renewal time its gone up  >:( Same as a non fault accident fully covered .. someone writes my car off and i get to pay an extra £100 for the privileged come renewal time  >:( They got you by the bollards , id sooner fix it myself next time around ..and any claim stays on your file if its transferred , even windscreen claim .

Think it was Morethan insurance i was with at the time  :(

Been a few years ago now , i looked into it all .. the small print ect . you'd be surprised at whats held on file just to load your premiums as much as possible . They told me even though accident wasnt my fault its recorded and you have to disclaim it if you swap insurance ,WHY !!
Now i know  :( rant over soz  :-[ ;D

Anyway good luck to the op for fitting a new screen  ;D :y
