Omega General Help / Re: Need Sum Help ASAP Please
« on: 28 November 2009, 01:35:41 »
lol thats a good mental image ^^^, i agree with the other people on here if it starts by bump starting the starter motor wont be siezed because when you bump it it will get freed up, it cant b the starter solonoid siezed as yo will still hear the starter spinning, so my moneys on the battery, get her started and if you have a voltmeter to hand place it accross the battery, you should have about 14.3 volts when engine is running if so then replace batt if not then time to look at alternater.

Omega General Help / immobiliser help please :)
« on: 27 November 2009, 23:37:42 »
hi everyone, i am buying a omega off of a friend who has lost the key for it, i need to get the car home, will it be easy/doable to take the immobilser sensor ring and ignition barrel out of my omega and fit them in the other one, or is there a way of getting the steering lock off without a key? i can short the ciggy lighter socket to get ignition turned on and then short the starter to turn it over, is there a way to trick the immobilser like fitting the one from my omega? any comments welcome thanks all  ;D

Hi jus thinkin here do you have the idle contol valve plugged in? (the round silver thing and the right of the engine with one pipe from the induction pipes and into the top if the engine) check the electrical wire going to it, try to start with and without this plugged in.

ok done the cam belt :) nice easy job really whoo, but after that she refused to start again after a few times round the block :(, this is due to the idle control valve i think as when its unpluged i can keep it running and drive but gotta keep revs there :(, the slapping/rattle niose is still present could this be due to a swirl baffle in the front exhaust loose? do omegas have these?

Hello guys well this is my first post so go easy on me if its a bad one :), well i recently got myself a 2.5 V6 auto omega and im loving it, best car i've had so far :), however im in need of a omega guru as i have a few problems with my baby, first is that it has a rather poor idle kinda juddery but if reved to about 1000 smooth as you like any ideas? second is when idleing and a particuly big judder happens with the headlights on the back light for the air con switch fades out and the orange light to say its on partly comes on any ideas?? and third when i rev high there is a very fast slapping/banging noise fron the front of the engine any ideas??? well yes the car does sound bad but i love it a bit of tlc will go a long way i think  :) thanks for any replies.
