thanks for that mate yea ill probably need a hydraulic lift or somthin.do you know if the box in the 2.5td pre facelift is the same as my 2002 2.2petrol please say it is .cheers :)

hi all at oof ive sourced a autobox for my 2.2 cd but the box is still in the car.does anyone know does it have to be removed complete with torque converter and is it just a srtaightforward nuts and bolts swap job.any help would be a big help as ive never done a big job like this.cheers for any advice :-/

hi guys.dropped the sump pans from the gearbox cos its been playing silly beggars the last few days .decided to change oil and filter but discovered bits of metal and plastic like a seal or ring.ca see where it came from but ive got a bad feeling about this,any thoughts or help much appreciated

the car would be driving ok and then lose power  like changing down gears.do you think the gearbox is shot.also the gearbox sump has a slight leak cos a couple of the nuts wont fully tighten ,ta a million for any light you can shed :) :)

apologies for the long winded question, bought a 2.2 auto last christmas, drove fine but always had a spanner light on. when you started the car and are able to select sport box and light is on then car drives fine, if sport light doesnt come on then the car drives like a pig and goes in to limp home. when in limp home mode i can select 1st and go thriugh the box to drive, but yesterday the car would hardly drive at all, a while back i changed the transmission oil but couldnt get dextron 3 so used dextron 2 as the guy in the auto factors said it was ok. do you think this is the probem? or maby ive too much oil in it? someone said it could be the cam sensor. ANY help please.
