auto gearbox
« on: 27 May 2010, 12:43:33 »

apologies for the long winded question, bought a 2.2 auto last christmas, drove fine but always had a spanner light on. when you started the car and are able to select sport box and light is on then car drives fine, if sport light doesnt come on then the car drives like a pig and goes in to limp home. when in limp home mode i can select 1st and go thriugh the box to drive, but yesterday the car would hardly drive at all, a while back i changed the transmission oil but couldnt get dextron 3 so used dextron 2 as the guy in the auto factors said it was ok. do you think this is the probem? or maby ive too much oil in it? someone said it could be the cam sensor. ANY help please.

the car would be driving ok and then lose power  like changing down gears.do you think the gearbox is shot.also the gearbox sump has a slight leak cos a couple of the nuts wont fully tighten ,ta a million for any light you can shed :) :)
