have a 99 mv6 3.0l and have lost my speedo, and pas has got really light, there are no warning lights that have come on. when i used a scanner no fault code found, any one got any ideas or could it be the dreaded abs/tc ecu (aaahhhh). i had this repaired about 6 months ago when my abs and tc failed also had an intermitent speedo fault as well, but has run fine since.

Afraid, that's the classic symptoms of the beginnings of ABS ECU failure, the level of PAS is determined via the speed feed from the ABS ECU as is the speedo.

You could try cleaning up the sensor on the NSR wheel as this is where the feed comes from, but 99% it will be the ECU.

Sorry bud.

most likely coincidence...

Possibly, seems a bit strange, no previous problem.
Worked fine until I left her for 3 days without battery, What could have gone to make it completely dead, it's not trying to work at all, there is nothing.

Hi All,

As above, recently disconnected battery to fit new ABS ECU, and now the passenger side front door is dead as far as locking/unlocking.
What could be the likely cause?

HELP! is there anybody local who could give me a hand, I've got the rad hose, electrical connectors etc off, I've got the top two screws out but the clasp holding the connector to the modulator is stuck fast and I'm out of idea's.

Cheers

Jim

Do you mean the electrical plug?  If so slip a knife blade down between plug end and ecu and waggle gently - a bit of lubricant may help (I know its not a lubricant by try wd40) - and plug lock will eventually move towards wing.  Then plug can be easily disconnected.

Thanks Dbug, I made up a right angled jig to prise it out, that and some needlenose molegrips.

Unfortuately I am still stuck, as I just cannot get to the last 3 bolts. >:( :-[

Hi All,

Right I'm fed up of having no speedo and no PAS, so I'm going to attempt to change my ABS ECU.

Could someone tell me how the large round connectors behind the battery detach, I don't want to force them, but can't see how the come off.

Cheers

Hi All,

Sorry this isn't in the right area, but it's not for sale, so I thought the electrical section would be the best bet.

Alpine 2/1 MRV/T407 400w Power Amp I was given this a while back, I have no use for it, so If someone else could use it for something then all good.

Collection from Worthing, West Sussex.

While by no means compulsory, but a small donation to a charity of your choice would be a nice gesture.

Hi All,

The Abs Ecu has been gone for a while, on my beloved Miggy, I have another to replace it, but due to now being on crutches again :(, there is no way that I can lean over the engine to change it over.

Anybody that would be willing to give me a hand, I would be most grateful. :)
Just let me know how much you would want via Pm.

Thanks

Jim
