Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Throttle not responding
« on: 20 November 2010, 14:35:06 »
right...
I had the cam covers off my 01 omega 2.6 v6 to do the gaskets...
Everything went back together great but when i started the car i had no throttle (car is Fly by wire)
Checked for faults P1500 came up
Posted on the general help and all said it was a loose mutiplug or a broken wire.
I have taken out the wiring loom and found two wires with damage ive snipped them back and rejoined all but still no throttle
Ive gotten in a new potensiometer and fitted and still the same!!!
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this or can help me in any way?

Ok update,
I stripped everything out that i had originally done i then traced the loom back to see if there was any damaged wires.
There were two wires with the insulation  damaged on them so i insulated them and took off the negative for about 2 mins and put it back on  check all the rest of the wires as far back as the multiplug at the firewall at the back of the engine and as far as the ecu and all ok.
Started the car car idles fine but now when you press the pedal revs go from aprox 850-900 to 1500-1750.So the throttle is getting a signal.
Tried "revving"ot to make sure and it is definitely getting a signal to open but isnt opening the butterflys enough.
I reckon now 95% that its the FBW motor.
Is there anyone here thats willing to let me ring them and pick their brains on this now.I would be grateful and maybe could put this thing to rest...
Any enlightenments would be greatfully appreciated!
Thanks

ok,Last night i stripped the plenum back out and had a look at the loom.Does anyone know the routing of the wiring from the fly by wire throttle back to the pedal?

6
Could be a damaged wire alright chris. How did you diagnose?
Any help for this is greatly appreciated lads...

Right, took the plug off and blew into it a couple of times, will the fault go away if this is successfull or will i need to  put back on the TB and start the car to see if it was that?

8
Ill check the plug is not wet now...badly stuck without this car 2 hour drive to work!!
Wellung, I get what your saying and it moves as you say.
Should the throttles open and close if i turn on the ignition and press the pedal?

9
Ive pressed the butterflys they dont move freely takes a litlle bit of effort to push them open when i release it they do close thou

10
checked and double checked the plug that goes into the unit and it is in as far as i can see.car starts and idles and when i press the acc pedal revs go slghtly up and no more.
Is there maybe a fuse for this or am i looking at a new one? Thanks for the reply Entwood

« on: 14 November 2010, 19:02:33 »
Hey havent been around for a while.
Decided to do my rocker gaskets today on my 2.6 V6 Omega.
All went well but after i hd put everything back together and i had started the car i realised i had no throttle.
Put my obdII reader on it and got no fault.Did the pedal test and got P1500
Does this happen alot or is there a fix for this?
Ive taken the throttle housing off to have a look and i dont know what to do next.
Any help would be appreciated.
