ok thanks guys i found the satnav on ebay its a philips and the add says
    * VAUXHALL OMEGA SAT NAV DISPLAY
    * REMOVED FROM A 1999 TOP SPEC CAR
    * PLUGS IN TO THE DASH
    * EXCELLENT CONDITION AND PERFECT WORKING ORDER
if it will be a lot of trouble i wont bother just though it would be a nice addition :o
Is your car a facelift or prefacelift?

How bad! I dont know the difference sorry new to the omega world

Is your grill attached to the bonnet or is it seperate?

Its seperate so i assume its pre face lift then?
Sounds that way - does your dash look like mine (in that link posted earlier)?

yes the dash is the same ::)
CARiN was the factory fit option then.  Bit dated now, but can be picked up cheap.  Pictorial only (ie, no 'map view' like Tomtom etc).

It is possible, as you can tell from that thread, to pick up a Siemens system, which is what I have in mine now (in addition to the CARiN).  Lot of work to fit that in the prefacelift though.

thanks for your help mate just 1 last question where's the best place to look for the CARiN ones

Omega General Help / Mot advisory and heated seats
« on: 01 February 2010, 13:04:01 »
Hi all

I got my omega last week and im loving it, it has a few advisories on the new mot but only failed on a bulb.  I made the garage MOT the car as it has high miles they tried to hide the advisory list but thanks to vosa I got the list and it is as follows:

*Rear tyres close to legal limit (now have been changed)
*Oil Leak (breather pipe had split now been replaced)
*all 4 suspension bushed wearing but not causing excessive play
*light dusting of oil on all 4 shock absorbers
*needs new rear number plate
*rear indicators faded

The other issue I have is the heated seats don’t work, is there a cheap way to sort this.  I plan on working though the list myself and getting the car in a1 condition.

Thanks in advance

Newbie Welcome Area / Hello all
« on: 01 February 2010, 12:46:56 »
Hi all

I had an astra cab for the last 4 years but over xmas the block cracked. I started my hunt for a new car the weekend before last looking for a mondeo or vectra but found an omega, it was never an option to buy but when i seen it I had to get one. Anyways I have a 2000 plate 2.0 cdx auto petrol, I has 160k on the clock but was a lex fleet car so its been looked after. The body has a few marks but inside is perfect.

Well thats me anyway im sure you'll all see me around

Cheers
