Omega General Help / Passed MOT with some future work needed

Hi my 1998 omega estate has just passed its MOT but with a note saying that the nearside front chassis by the steering idler mount has surface corrosion and needs attention,
How difficult is this to do? and is this the last year of my cars life?

Hi, due to one of my neighbours smashing my door mirror and not having the guts to admit it, I am on the look out for one, I know I cant post in the wanted section, but my 1998 cd estate is coming up for its MOT and I need it to pass,

Thank you for your replies, have found out that I have three dead glow plugs, going to change them, all 6 just to be on the safe side

Hi, I have done a search on here, but couldnt find waht im looking for,
I hade to have a new battery on saturday as the old one completely died after this the car which is a 98 2.5 td doesnt want to start, turns over and after a long while will start, once its been running and driven it starts when hot,
I didnt have any problems before changing the battery, I did find a blown 15amp fuse in the fuse/relay box under the bonnet, but this doesnt seem to have solved it, Im pretty sure it is to do with the glow plugs, but why would they go after changing the battery?
please help
