Omega Electrical and Audio Help / F for fault?
« on: 02 October 2010, 20:45:23 »
hello lovely peoples....

can any one help please. on thursday the fuel gauge and the digital display showing remaining fuel stopped working, the needle on the gauge dropped to the bottem and the light flashed for a while then went out whilst the digi display shows F, I assumed the sender unit was knacked then started the car on friday and all working fine again though showing less fuel than I know I had, started her up this morning and the same 'F' displayed and needle not moving even when fueled. does this sound like sender unit or bad wiring/electrical gremlins. if it was sender unit I thought it would just show no mile remaining on the digi display any help much appreciated, this is on a 's' reg elite estate 3L.
cheers Neil

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Power sounder removal

I took mine out a few months back after it kept going off and when I opened it up it was all set in resin far too much bother and I cant see a reason to re fit it, like its been said before less weight to carry round, driving an elite you need to save a few pounds of weight here and there. :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: radio auto volume control

Thanks for that I thought it would be another little gem from Vaux, but my mate said it was a problem, it probably is speed I just noticed it in comparison to revs whilst driving. thanks again.

Hi
just a little query I have a bose system in my 3.0l elite and when the revs go up so does the volume of the sound system not constant but when it hits 2.5k rpm the radio gets louder and then quite when the revs fall is this a problem with the alternater or yet another fancy elite extra, cheers

Omega General Help / winter worries
« on: 02 October 2010, 20:53:18 »
Hello,
just read that we might be in for another winter like last year  :( which then led me to wonder what a 30l v6 rear wheel drive estate is like in the slippy stuff because last time I drove a rear wheeled car 20 odd years ago it wasn't that good.....
I have a feeling I already know the answer having had the back end out in just a bit of rain.
cheers Neil

Hi
last week I got an Irmscher back box, twin in twin out from our local scappy, it came off a saloon and with a bit of help from my friend the welder 4hrs later I had an exhaust fitted to my estate that looks good but no difference in performance or tone. but it does look good.

Omega General Help / Alarm not sounding when set off.
« on: 11 July 2010, 09:53:40 »
Hello everyone,
after taking advice from this brillient forum and removing my power sounder, due to it going off when it so felt the need, I now find that the alarm doesn't sound only the hazzards flash when its set off. (small J.R.T jumping about with the interior bypass button not pressed) is this the because the power sounder has been removed and do I have to get a new one before the alarm will work correctly or is there a bypass. cheers for any help Neil

Omega General Help / Re: More noises
« on: 05 May 2010, 20:24:45 »
Thanks, the cars had new belts and tensioners, and it is more of a motor noise, I did wonder if it was the head light self leveling motor didnt think about the suspension because I thought that it only did the rear, is this an expensive job then or can they go on for a while been noisey ? I know its an old car but I kind of hoped that not everything would go all at once.

Omega General Help / More noises

Hi All
really enjoying the 3.0lt v6 and slowly working my way through all the noises, and the good thing is the cars getting lighter, removed the alarm sounder as it was going off all the time, disconnected the secondary air pump as sounded like a hovercraft starting but now a new noise has my attention this time from the drivers side sounds like a pump/motor going getting noisy on start up it settles down after a while but does come back from time to time. any help for things to look for very welcome, sorry to be vague my cars 98 elite estate cheers Neil

I've always taken as much off with my fingers/nails without damaging paintwork, then t-cut does the rest also helps to blend in any colour difference ;)
