Omega General Help / Re: Heater bypass valve?  Any advice?

I don't know what all the fuss is about.

HBV is an easy job, just a tiny (and I mean tiny) bit fiddly. Scuttle being off is extremely helpful for access, although I have done this job without.

Only tool I used was a pair of plumbing grips.. any decent pair of pliers should get the clips off.. or a little pair of mole grips

Don't trust that garage, they clearly don't know what they're talking about.

I totally agree with you. I fixed this problem, 2 month ago, but in my case almost all cooling agent was lost.
Also, local dealers encountered problems with this GM part code (something changed in GM code catalog during time). My spare HBV arrived from Germany in 5 days and it cost around 80 euro.

I'm pretty sure you can turn the lock using the key it may need a little force and you maybe worried the key will snap but it should turn. Have you tried a little WD40 in the lock.

HTH :y
I totally agree with you. The driver door (and trunk door) can be opened by key using "a little force".
But how to lube a locked door using WD40 ?

Good luck!

Hi,
first you must measure the voltage of the battery with engine off. Then start the engine and measure again the voltage.

Yes....the best solution is to pop the door card off and place a bit of sticky back draught excluder to the door metal work where the rod to the button passes

Hi Boiler Man,
glad to know that others have this problem. Next weekend I will follow "Marks DTM Calib" advice. It is very easy to remove the interior door panel.

Omega General Help / Re: Is 2.2 diesel any good.
« on: 15 March 2007, 19:01:26 »
Hi,
I do have one, and I am satisfied. Sure, before I owned a 1.5l Dewoo Nexia and probably this can influence my opines.
But, look to the facts:
- the consumption is 7 liters/ 100 km max. outside the city, with AC on and running at an speed of 140 km/h (at this speed the tahometer gauge is at 3000 rot/min)
- the consumption is 9 liters/ 100 km in urban traffic (I do not have a Board computer to indicate this).
I like this engine, plenty of torque even on idle, 270 NM at only 1800 rot, and a power of 120 hp at 4000 rpm. The turbo start to operate in my case at 2200 rot.  :y

Hi,

I am a new owner of an Omega Estate 2,2Dti fabricated in 2001.
During the 16000km or 4 months I have a lot to say.
