Omega General Help / Re: Flasher relay

It's not broken, but I'm going to look at an estate tomorrow then when I get it home I want to swap all my LED bulbs over and the LED relay is a 3 pin on the Lexus.
You can buy LED replacements that have the necessary electronics built in to convince the car it has a standard bulb in place instead of LED, so there is no need to replace the flasher unit.

General Discussion Area / Parents were right & account removal
« on: 15 August 2010, 19:13:07 »
Seems the old saying of "No rest for the wicked" is true, don't you just hate it when your parents are almost right  :)

Managed to convince the better half that her beloved W reg Omega wasn't worth 2 bob in the real world (even though it did fetch a surprising £300 as it was), and we are finally in our new property after what can only be descibed as totally incredulous behaviour by the sellers.
Among other things, they seemed to think that the phrase "the property must be vacated by midday on X day" didn't apply to them  :o

On the plus side, the better half is quite taken with her new mode of transport, and filming is now finished and I don't have to lift a finger again until November when actual work commences again.

Obviously now that we no longer have an Omega in the family we won't really need an account with this forum (unless there happen to be any Range Rover experts here), so could someone from Admin please remove our profile?

Seems like a lot of hard work to me, and I doubt for one minute that getting the vehicle reclassified is going to be a walk in the park.
As Road Hog Mad says,it will be a lot easier and cheaper to buy an Elite and go from there.

TheBoy has nailed it in one, any attempt to bypass the security measures in the workplace is a disciplinary offence which normally results in instant dismissal without recourse to appeal.

Your wife could try asking the IT department for access to those websites when she is on her break, but if they decline then I would advise her to accept that and save the shopping for when she is at home.

It's the people driving them who are dangerous i.e. Us
I agree, the only way an inanimate object can possibly present any danger is if there is human intervention.
There would have to be human intervention or who would it be a danger to? ;D
Good point  :y (although I'm sure you knew what I meant  ;) )

General Discussion Area / Re: Insurance renewal
« on: 07 July 2010, 18:26:21 »
As STMO123 says, it pays to shop around every year.
Last year my partners quote was £207 for fully comprehensive cover in her 3 litre Omega with all the protection you can think of. She is 36 years old and has a 19 year accident and conviction free driving record, and she has never claimed on any insurance policy in her entire life.
For some reason, this years renewal for her was just shy of £470.

When I queried the massive price hike, I was told that the reason for such a big increase was because other people were having accidents.
My response to that was "So let me get this straight, even though my partner has just accrued another year of accident free driving, her insurance has more than doubled in the space of a year because other people do not know how to drive?"
The answer I received was a plain yes  :o

Needless to say, her current insurers will not be getting our business next week when the insurance expires.

Yup, but not quite as many as my real surname (which I think you know)
How would I know your surname?
my kw senses are tingling  :-X
I wouldn't exactly regard myself as a newbie where the internet and forums in general are concerned, but I am at a loss as to what "kw" is an acronym for.
Could you possibly enlighten me further?

< Chosen because I will soon be getting more attention than I would ordinarily attract on the street and will have to learn to accept it.
However I do not have to accept the same sort of attention when using various internet fora, and therefore chose a username that gives nothing away.

How safe is home WiFi?
If it hasn't been modified in any way (eg, hi-gain antenna) then very safe indeed thanks to the small Tx power allowed in law. Even if you did use a hi-gain antenna, it still wouldn't present a danger as you would not ordinarilly hold a wifi router to your head.
