Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CCR 2006 default volume
« on: 12 March 2007, 10:03:50 »
Does anyone know how to reset the switch-on volume level? Mine is so low it's almost inaudible at switch-on. The obvious answer is "Tech 2", I suppose, but my local dealer says they have checked, and can't come up with any way to do it.  :'(

There's a kit from a 2001 3.0 MV6 on sale; anyone know if it would fit a 2000 MV6?

Yep, the leads and DIS pack are in the garage waiting for the start date, and the oil trails don't seem major, so probably the covers aren't warped (what, with my luck?). Did the breathers a few weeks ago, but the misfire is still there, so as soon as I have a few days clear it's 'ere we go time. Still hoping for clues about gasket supplies, though.

Aaarrggghhh!!! Before I was just fed up - now I'm terrified. OK, who can tell me if the gaskets are available via here, and who I have to contact? Engine number is 08357380.

Hi, everybody. What do we think about Vaux-world's cam cover gaskets? Are they as good as Vx stuff?

Thanks for all this useful info - this is the place to come for expertise.  Sadly, it looks as if I still have to get the DIS out, even to change the leads.  >:(

Omega General Help / MV6 misfire
« on: 08 June 2008, 15:12:23 »
Someone must have done this already, but I can't find it. My 2000 MV6 has recently started to misfire under load (it seems OK at steady speed). Plugs are 13K old; wells had a little oil in but have been cleaned out; so have engine-top breathers (not much crud in them); paperclip test is clear. What do I try next? I'd rather it wasn't a replacement DIS pack, for obvious reasons, and because Helpful Local Dealer says it could be any of three, and I don't want to do two dismantles (one to find out which followed by a remantle to get mobile again, then do it all again to replace  :( ...).

'Sright, Tunnie. I didn't think the 3.2 came in until a year or so later? Yes, fly-by-wire would be cool, but one has to go with what one can get, and this was the only one for miles.

Hi and greetings to all.  I'm John and I live between Solihull and Coventry. I've had a 2000 MV6 estate (non-plod) in champagne since 2002, and found it to be a splendid machine - but that won't stop me adding bits! Latest job is reversing sensors; got a bum kit from someone on eBay, replaced it with one from Maplins that seems to work but is maybe a bit oversensitive. I'm also hunting for the right cruise control actuator - got two wrong ones now from guess where!
What I really want is a 2.5 diesel Elite estate, but I suspect you guys have got them all hidden away somewhere.
What I like about this forum is that it tells me the right way to do the jobs I've already done!

Pete: I missed your first reply about the mirror - how much is the whole thing, then?

I'm looking for a front headlight level sensor and a nearside heated mirror glass (year 2000 - not the rounded one) - can you help?

12
I need a nearside (LHS) rear light cluster and reflector - can you help, and if so, how much? I'd also like a decent handbrake lever if possible.

If DLK can find me a front headlight sensor as well, I'd snap his hand off ... please???

Well, I'd do it in a heartbeat, but every time I try to log on in the shop my password gets rejected!
