Thanks for all your replies
left the jobby in the box and forgot about it!!

All fitted now with help of the the glove-box handle guide, (really did they have to hide a screw behind the air vent!!!)

Actual hands free kit fitting using the SOT-109 adapter lead was a nice easy job though.

thanks guys
adam

received the lead in the post all seems obvious enough except ... . .  .   .

Does anyone know what this jobby is?

All I can see down the shrink wrap is a small resister connecting the two green wires which  then both go into a white block, the two pink wires connect into the other end of this white block.

could it be some sort of noise filter i don't need?

from that post I'm thinking the "Autoleads SOT-109"

thanking you kindly

now to finished wrestling the glovebox....

does anyone know with at least 70% certainty what cable I need the connect my parrot wiring to the prewire (above glovebox connector jobby).

I stupidly bought the parrot branded converter cable which it turns out daisy's in on the back of the head unit where there is no room for all the extra connectors etc..

I remember seeing something on here before where someone listed an autoleads one but I can't find the post again now.

thanks in advance
adam

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / DAB shopping wishlist
« on: 28 December 2011, 13:54:16 »
This is probably looking for the holy grail of radios here but these are my wishes (priority order).

1/ Digital Radio

2/CD Player

3/Mini Jack Input for mp3 Player

4/Bluetooth connection for phone / built-in hands free  (I don't mind running a mic to the drivers pillar)

5/Large understandable buttons and display on unit (I hate the small buttons on single din after-market radios, really who has fingers thin enough to use them!!!!)
do omegas have proper double din units or are they single din in disguise?

6/Compatible with steering wheel volume control buttons

7/Preferably tasteful enough not to turn dash board into mini Blackpool illuminations

Also has anyone used either window mount or loose wire aerials? Or analogue -> DAB aerial converter boxes?

Window Mount - http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/AFAR_Amplified_internal_glass_mount_DAB_car_aerial_.html

Aerial Converter  - http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/FM-AM_to_FM-AM-DAB_aerial_converter.html

Any suggestions folks ?

Omega General Help / Re: locking problems
« on: 28 November 2010, 02:00:06 »
hmm the thing is the key doesn't have any effect on the door.

it turns freely enough in the barrel, sometimes locks and unlocks the back doors / boot but does nothing to the drivers door.

I'll be pulling it apart as soon as time / weather allows but in the mean while its blocked in with its twin for safe keeping

thanks for your quick reply,

brill that at least mean only one door card to deal with

i have some further questions........

is there a way to get it so you can lock the drivers door with the key as a stop gap while i get a new solonoid ?

is the key mechanism linked to the door lock electrically via the soloniod or backed up with a link rod of some description?

what would happen if the battery was dead is there an unlock only link rod to get you in, in this event ?

Omega General Help / locking problems
« on: 27 November 2010, 18:17:35 »
I purchased a gls yesterday with a central locking fault

hopefully this description will make sense

I can sometimes lock (but not deadlock) the boot and the rear doors but not passenger or drivers door. this behaves the same if I use the key in the door or the remote.

Sometimes nothing will lock until you've locked and unlocked the passenger door manually with the pin.

the passenger door can be lock and unlocked manually with the pin, but the drivers door pin will not move what ever and is stuck in unlocked

now the real question is the passenger door lock not working because the drivers door lock is jammed or is it independently broken ?

how does the deadlock system work / why do the back doors not dead lock even though they lock ?

I've found the guides on door card removal and door lock replacement
