Yes it is worth its weight in gold, even after all these years.
I blow the dust off mine periodically to refresh my memory before doing the job.
Which reminds me. mine is about 6 months overdue, although about 25k short on mileage.
It also reminds me, isnt OOF 20 years old sometime soon ?

In a perfect world, freight would travel by rail and trucks banished from the roads, other than smaller trucks to do local runs from train stations to delivery depots.
People who cant pass a test to prove they are capable of driving to a reasonably high standard forced to take trains and taxis because they are banned from the roads.
Then, nice clear roads with high standards of driving, and no motorway speed limits for the rest of us.
We can but dream.  :D

Exactly what I experienced driving through Germany on Sunday, in fact.

And people tell us, we won the war.  ::) ;D

Tyre blow out my arse !  ::)
Looking at the pile of crumpled burnt metal that used to be a Lamborghini - how the hell could they tell a tyre had blown out ?
I just hope the poor sods wernt trapped inside and concious while it was burning  :o :(

I think there are one or two being dismantled on ebay ?
Spares are getting more and more difficult to get hold of now unfortunately.
I wish I had kept half the stuff I binned or sold.

The train companies often don't help, as parking at Chiltern stations is now a tenner a day, and Banbury station has closed it's drop off point to private vehicles, so anyone wanting to use the train from there now has to use a taxi if not in walking distance.  Fine for drop off is now £40.  So everyone drives to London now.

That's no way to run a railway!  ::)

Do the buses go to the station?  ???

Forum members will know I'm not the greatest fan of derv cars but I think old Tigger has done well here. :y

Incidentally what is the difference between a 330D and the 335D as they both share the same 3 litre straight six lump?

Good choice. :y

The 535d is a twin turbo (one small turbo and one large), whereas the 530d is a variable geometry single turbo.  :y

Incidentally, at one stage the 525d, the 530d, the 540d, and the 550d all used the 3.0d block. The 525d was a down tuned 3.0d.  :y

Probably performance overkill at Tigger's age. :)

Yes it will be a few years before I'm mature enough to handle the kind of cars you enjoy M'lud.  :)

UPDATE ON DRIVING WITH OIL COOLER BYPASS AND NO OIL COOLER

Been driving in the recent hot weather and the water temp has not gone above it's previous usual running temp of 95 degrees (on the gauge).

Currently no adverse effects of having no oil cooler/heat exchanger, even in the hot weather, though as the car is a 2.5 v6 and no towing is involved, that was suggested as the likely result on the other forum, ABS.

Hopefully that will give some comfort to others having difficulty finding a new oil cooler (though I have recently seen one in S/S mentioned on this site), and who might otherwise be reluctant to go the bypass route.

When my oil cooler failed last winter and I could not obtain a new one I opted to remove it completely and fit a bypass hose joining the two connections, by the oil filter, to maintain circulation but without cooling.
Got the pipe made up by Pirtek in Basildon. They did it without a pattern as it was a non OE variation. Pirtek in Basildon were great.
Apparently you can now get new SS oil coolers (see recent listing on this site). I'll leave mine bypassed as even in the recent hot weather, the engine has not been getting hotter than 95 degrees, so happy with that FTTB.

This is what I should have bought instead of the Chrysler. They're invariably in a nice old man spec with lots of toys and comfy seats and yet a remap alone will add 100hp and 170nm  :D

Was that the Crossfire, Jimmy?

The one that looks like a dog taking a dump when viewed in side profile. :)
