Makes my suggestion of a neon sign transformer look a bit inadequate.

You must be able to run one serious tesla coil from one of those.

`though I must confess to frightening myself with it at times....`ripping the air apart makes a heck of a lot of noise.  

I`d play with it more, but the interference issue is problematic....I try to run it for the local-village show in August; `pleases the crowds!

Voltage sources used for spark experiments tend use extremely high voltages - keep a respectful distance. Also, capacitors which store a lot of energy make sparks brighter and louder, but are also quite deadly. Make sure they are fully discharged before touching them. Bleeder resistors are recommended.  :exclamation
