Yes and Yes.
It will read fault codes and can perform many useful tasks so would be useful, but it is no substitute for a proper tech2.

I'm sure the "real" tech2 would be awesome, I work at Nissan tech centre and our system is amazing!

I would only need baic functions like, read and clear codes....
