Code busting???
« on: 15 November 2012, 19:24:14 »

Hi,
Can anyone tell me a way to clear fault codes?
I have tried several code readers and nothing wants to communicate with my car....   :-\
This brings me to my next question, Any ideas why nothing will talk to my car???

I borrowed a Sealey OBDII thing recently and found it took a couple of tries to make it communicate with the car  ???
In the end I was able to clear the codes, but I don't know anything about readers tbh.
I gave it back sharpish in case I broke it  ;D

The OBDII readers will not work on the 2.5/3.0 models.
For those you'll need "My Naff Code Reader" (not the cheap knockoffs of course) or Tech2.

What reader will work? I though being a 2000my, it would be OBDII???

Thanks for the advice ;-) pink and/or brown both work for me! ;-) lol....
I did the paperclip and I now what to clear those faults to see if they come back rather than just fire new parts hoping I get a fix.
I found this on the bay, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Tech2-Diagnostic-fault-code-Reader-Scanner-OBD-/150944835401?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2325036749
Is this the kit I need?
