Sounds like you're better off out of there anyway! Life's too short for all that stress. You work to live, not live to work!

As for the other advice... You will almost certainly have grounds for a compensation claim under some section of employment law and HSE need to be informed... How would you feel if one of those forklift drivers killed someone/themselves next week?

Best of luck with the job hunting and keep your chin up! :y

If I have read this saga correctly, Alan was dismissed so no chance of constructive dismissal as he was actually dismissed.

The only chance he has of winning at a tribunal is if he follow the employer's disciplinary procedure which probably allows for an appeal after dismissal. Unless he follows this procedure any employment tribunal will find for the employer who have followed their procedures.

Maybe time to move on as has been said.  :-/

However, many household insurance policies have 'family legal protection cover' which often covers you for employment disputes. It may be worth looking into this as a possible route if Alan wants to take things further.

Losing your temper, shouting at the boss etc are not grounds for dismissal. Doing it repeatedly may be but just having an argument is not, no matter how bad you feel about yourself afterwards.

Definitely get some advice - have they offerred you a settlement?
