lost my  job today
« on: 09 May 2008, 21:28:34 »

it seems that today you cannot stand up for what is right.

i was a manager for a small manufacturing firm in birmingham, the conditions are quite bad and the place looks like a scrap yard.
fork lift truck drivers dont have a licence and when you complain the attitude from the boss is unbelievable, going on about china, employing immigrants.

anyway over the last few months my motivation really diminished to the point of leaving, anyway ended up on a final warning the rest is history.

thank god the car is paid for, wife is ok also, she has seen the stress i have been under.

Any grounds for unfair dismissal?

I believe to claim unfair dismissal the relative tribunals need you to have been employed for 2 yrs plus.
6 yrs. in a Managerial position would give you a strong foothold should you wish to pursue the matter.

did a similer thing last January and lost my temper and got my self the sack ;) - glad i did, new job is sooo much better :y only regret is i didn't have a real go at the old boss >:(

as long as the missus is ok (mine was 5months pregnant at the time :o) i'm sure you're better off out of there, stress like that in a job is no joke.

good luck for the future :y :y :y
