Why why why did anyone ever think it was a good idea to stick 1 wheel at the front?

Morgan showed how to do it 90 years ago :-\

1 wheel at the front = wheelbarrow
2 wheels at the front = stability braking & cornering :y

They are amusing to follow in deep snow, as all other vehicles have two grooves to drive in.  ;D
