Came down the A15 this afternoon and as I got to the roundabout where it meets the M180 I caught up with a Reliant Rialto and a Reliant Regal[the saloon version not the Del boy van]not only braver than me for driving one of those things in the first place,but they both proceeded to hang a left off the roundabout onto the motorway!!Definitely braver men than I!!!

I went to a Reliant rally with a mate a few years back. There were 4 of us in a Reliant Regal saloon!!  :o  :o  :o It's funny how you miss a seat belt when it's not there ...... likewise a full compliment of wheels on the ground!!!  ???  ;D  ;D  ;D

Years ago it was because it was drier & warmer in winter than 2 wheels & you could drive it on your bike licence (and it was eons back that reverse gear needed to blanked off to comply with your licence .... late 50s/early 60s  ??? ???)

Don't know what make my mate's was in the mid 60's. but it was funny watching him lifting the bonnet to kickstart the thing. Hilarious watching him lift the front and turning it round after nosing t up to the kerb....  :y

Owned one for a short while where I could drive it on my bike licence and get used to driving a car before my test. Interesting to drive in a gusting crosswind.  :o On the day I passed my test, it went up for sale and a few days later I bought a Ford Consul Granada 2.5l estate. :y :y :y :y

It might have been a Berkeley T60, they had a Excelsior 2 stroke engine (complete with kickstart) under the bonnet driving the front wheels.

I owned two plastic pigs in my youth and 'rolled them both'

These days I prefer two wheels ..........or four wheels (one in each corner) ;D

I remember having to take avoiding action as a plastic pig driver executed a lovely triple barrel roll on the A1 in front of me.. I didn't need any encouragement not to buy one but I got some anyway!

I would suggest that this was the Bond Mini Car, that was driven by a motorcycle engine and needed to be kick started, by hand.... ;) ;)

That does look very close to it vamps, but I think the bonnet and grill had been re-done by someone? But you definitely used your foot to kick it into life..  :y

  recently had a day at Northampton Raceway where I was taking part in the"auto extreme circus" that my two boys bought me for my 50th.part of it was driving a Reliant around a circuit in the "pits" car park. Plenty of left right turns to upset the thing but it was fitted with wide low down bars to stop it rolling over. good fun. finished second , beaten by a second. probably because I had one corner or the other scrapping along the ground :y :y
Some yeras ago, my mate had a friend whos dad was a train driver. After a day out in London, they got a free trip home in the trains cab. As the A12 passes Chelmsford, it runs along side the train line. the train had 100mph indicated on its speedo. they looked at the A12 to watch a Reliant van speed away past them. two weeks later, they both spotted the van in Clacton where they lived. the owner was in it so they asked him why was it so quick. he opened the bonnet to reveal a lotus twin cam engine :o :o :o
